Eh, makes sense, more or less.

I disagree. On the other hand, the fights aren't really the draw of Koihime so much as the comedy.

As much as I don't like the Three Kingdom fanservice anime shows, I have to admit that it is sort of neat seeing a collaboration between the two. I wouldn't be surprised if a one-shot OVA was made, but this sounds more like one of those festival efforts that studios and producers put up (often between two genre-similar, but unrelated shows) for publicity only, and not so much for the sake of setting up a crossover anime.

Just as the fights aren't the big draw for Ikki Tousen as opposed to the exploding clothes and tons of fan service. I see the problem being if they try to hard to meld the comedy and fanservice into some sort of congealed plot. Pick one or the other and then just give it a lot of good fight scenes and it might be pretty good. Or they could always dumb down both the comedy and fanservice and give more action.

I'm watching Ikki Tousen since day one for the fights. Xtreme Xecutor is wicked cool and Kanu never wiped the floor so much with her enemies. Cool factor for better storyline and more action packed episodes 4/5 stars.
It's my favorite fighting anime this year for very good reasons. I'm a fan of Kanu and she unleashes her tremendous powers this season. Plus, Bachou has the same humour as Lucy in Fairy Tail and she pulls it off very well just like Aya Hirano did.
If they could upgrade the animation sequences just a notch that show would be top rated. To my taste Ikki Tousen is becoming solid this year.
On the other hand, Koihime Musou has always been a show to make me laugh with the comedy.
