LOL! Colleen as Gohan...that...that poor woman. Isn't her throat bleeding enough from Luffy?
Monica...Rial...for Bulma? Urgh...I fear the 'Rial Screech' in full effect here. Not that I don't like Rial, don't get me wrong. I just can't hear her for Bulma.
Brina being Chiaotzu and Puar now is no big surprise, she's picked them up in games recently.
So...no slacking up on poor old Sabat? I was hoping they'd at least give Burter back to Vic. *sighs*

No issues with the re-casting job here aside from Rial as Bulma. I'm a big fan of hers, but I gotta agree with Gyt Kaliba on this one.

You know, it's slowly settling into my head now. If they couldn't get Nadolny and Volmer back for Kai, this may mean they will no longer come back for the games. If that's the case, count me as one sad, sad dub fan. I actually am feeling a bit depressed thinking about it. Crack all the jokes you want, but I grew up with the old cast. I was all for re-casting to cut some slack to Sabat this round, and for other people they just couldn't get back. But I never expected I'd have to see a day where Nadolny wasn't Gohan.
I'm going to miss those two.

Well, interesting as Dragon Ball Z Kai may be, I still haven't finished watching the original Dragon Ball Z.
However, I don't mind if some character's voices are changed, as long as it's no major characters that will have an active role throughout the entire series. For example, Goku's voice actor, Chi Chi voice actor, Master Roshi and Kirlin.
Although Bluma is important, change hopefully won't be too bad. Though I will have to admit, seeing as I am watching Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, it might be weird to hear a different voice actor.
But seriously, the only person whose voice must always be the same is Goku's. But now that I think about it, I hope Picolo voice actor is the same. I've always liked Chris Sabat's voice, even during the time Dragon Ball Z first aired in US.
But I will say this, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are excellent to watch. This is how anime should be. I am pretty sure Kai will be a fun watch, but I personally enjoy the long fights.

I'm a huge Dragon Ball Z nerd, but I'm not exactly seeing the point of this series. I mean, it's essentially a "remix" of episodes we've already seen, with new opening and ending animations. I've seen the first few episodes, and I've got to say that while it's very good (it IS still DBZ, after all), I'm not going to be incredibly tempted to spend my hard-earned money on this. Funimation shouldn't charge as much as they do for their other DVDs, or I'm not biting. So far, the DBZ sets I'm most impressed with are the Dragon Boxes, which are worth every penny.

As much as I like Chris Sabat's voice in DBZ, they could have cut him a little slack considering how many voices he does in the series. I honestly wouldn't have minded if they had gotten another voice actor for a character like Yamcha.

I don't mind the voice changes except the Narrator, that voice was so natural and was used in the video games, why change it?!
Anyways, I'm glad this series came out, if I had to guess, it's probably to restore the image of the DB series that the kittens American live-action movie practically took a big ugly dump on.

Not buying Kai. I said before, only thing that could make me buy this boring recut is an Ocean cast reunion, and obviously FUNimation wasn't going to do that.

Fun thing here, Kai was basically a tie-in to DBE. DBE's end is the point in which DBK begins, it started two weeks after DBE was released, and was advertised together.

Well, great.
The only way they could possibly make this right now is by fixing terms and names, which is a heck of a long shot. Those recasts aren't bad actors(However, I don't know Doc Morgan) but they were not necessities like Freeza. Just perfect.

Wasn't Kyle Hebert the narrator in DBZ? I thought he still does stuff for Funimation. I wonder why they couldn't bring him back?

I don't mind the change for Gohan. I just hope Colleen will make him sound like a cute little kid like what Kara Edwards did for Goten.
As for the change for Bulma I'm sad really. I loved her voice. I don't really see the point for changing hers.
I'm sad about the change for the Narrator too. He always made everything sound so exciting. I really don't see why they had to change this as well.
I hope everyone else will stay the same.
EDIT: I also wonder what aspect ratio they're gonna do. Would be nice if they gave us an option.

I'm actually kind glad they got rid of the previous narrator, Kyle Hebert, who in turn was imitating the Dale Kelly impersonation....which I never really liked to begin with. Perhaps with the new voice actor, they're trying to get more of a Jouji Yanami-like (the original seiyuu) vibe....or it could be just another Dale Kelly impersonation. So far, I don't really mind what they're doing, but I'm pretty sure there's a good amount of people that want another voice actor for Freeza. Time will tell.

I think you guys are forgetting Monica Rial has deep voice that uses as well. It would be hilarious to hear use her Asa voice while yelling Goku. Laughing just thinking about it.

I'm a little disappointed they didn't recast a lot more roles than this. Most of the dub voices were abominable, and to bring them back again is a huge mistake.
However, I'm glad they replaced Stephanie Naldony as Gohan and Tiffany Vollmer as Bulma. Colleen Cinkenbeard and Monica Rial are excellent, and I'm sure they'll perform well.
