I like war animes and WW II animes but i didn't know there was such a good one like the First Squad okay i didn't look it yet . I think i will look it today but the best think is i don't need the subtitle because i understand German and Russian. And i wanted to know are they other animes like this? And i wanted to know is there a way to learn Japanese alone a program or a good book but for Germans and i know it doesn't belong here but i don't know where to it and sorry for my bad English! Very Happy

That's because First Squad just came out fansubbed and it was announced not so long ago. No surprise you didn't know about it.

FYI it was announced so long ago people didn't believe it was coming out.

I say, watch it and you won't be disappointed. The setting and the excellent quality of models for all war machinery is worth it; the scenery is beautifully recreated (thankfully made by people who actually know the places); the music doesn't shine, but it does incorporate motifs from that era; overall the script and direction are pretty original, and it is refreshing to see the USSR as the "good guys" in mass media for once.

It's not without its flaws, of course... the premise is a little ridiculous, and some things might alienate some people (and most are going to miss a lot); the movie should've obviously been at least twice as long for a proper pacing and a satisfactory development of the background and storyline, but you can't stretch a budget indefinitely. I suppose this is the best they could do. On a side note, the subs are often inaccurate, but I guess no one would notice anyway (only nitpickers like me).
