Ok I might sound dumb but I need help!!
I'm having a difficult time trying to understand the Loveless anime. I have started reading the manga first and its the first manga I have read up to date, but it is still going on. I LOVE the manga (only on the 7th one) and I haven't watch the 12th episode of the anime because I don't know if its the last episode. I don't want to see it if it is. Can someone tell me this?? |

According to ANN's encyclopedia, the Loveless anime only has 12 episodes: anime#4877
Hope that helps! |

The 12th episode is the last episode of the Lovesless anime. However, like most anime adapted from an on-going manga series the anime story ends while the manga goes on. If you have read up to vol 4 or 5 in the manga series go ahead and check out the 12th episode.
Also, not to be picky, but I think you may have had a better response to this question in the anime section. (Since the question seems to focus on the anime.) Just an FYI (Ooo, I just dated myself.) |

Well, it is all a matter of taste, but my all time favorite manga would be: Loveless and manga like Loveless Loveless Diabolo The Dreaming (a good OEL!) Angel Sanctuary Just Good Fullmetal Alchemist Here is Greenwood (getting hard to find though) Phoenix (Republished! I've only read up to vol 2 but wow!) Welcome to the N.H.K. Yotsuba&! Death Note MPD-Psycho For Your Consideration Hana Kimi Gunsmith Cats (and the sequeal Gunsmith Cats: Burst) Gatcha Gacha (Rather mindless but its so fun to read!) I have a rather eclectic collection of manga. |

I don't want to start a new thread on this, so even if this is in the manga section, I hope it is okay to just talk about the anime, because I just finished the series (but have not and probably will not read the manga) and, is it just me, or is the 12th episode ending the best massacre of a plot line, ever?
What I mean to say is, I thought that the story was going somewhere, that we would be left with fewer questions, but in the end, we just get a glimpse of a budding relationship. There were hints that perhaps Seimei is still "alive", and perhaps this is where the story is headed. What happened to the plot? All 12 episodes can only be seen as a set up for what is to come -- and it would almost be nonsensical to not continue it -- like Amatsuki. I really wish that TPTB would just wrap up at least a section of the story when they wrap up the series. :/ But, aside from that one complaint, I find Loveless quite enjoyable. Unlike some, I am not bothered my the yoai elements -- as long as a love is pure, it's anyone's personal decision (provided that the decision comes with freely given consent from a capable mind). I found their relationship quite heart wrenching, abusive, and painful -- yet, it seemed as if these characters need these types of emotions to keep from deteriorating to zombies. I don't know if I want them to be together or not, since I can only sense pain in their relationship. But then again, this pain is only a result of their intense love for each other. I can't make up my mind! All I know is that Soubi would def. screw with R's life and mental frailty if they remain together -- and yet, this is what R probably wants. Sigh. *wishes for better closure* :O |

Read the manga for better closure. The anime ending isnt even in the manga. Its still ongoing. And its much much better. But lately the chapters are really short. I'm reading the scanlations because I'm too impatient. But I bought the books too. Feels like its dragging on or something. I wish they would get to the point. I honestly dont care about the side characters like Yuiko or the teacher or whatever. Show me the important characters. Show me Ritsuka, Soubi, and spoiler[Seimei]. Because thats when the real meat of the story shows.
Oh and theres a novel coming out. Dunno if its a side story or a what if but supposedly Ritsuka's real fighter shows up in it. Its written by someone else tho but Kouga does the art..or so I heard anyway. |

Thanks for the response, Pinkwings. I want to watch the Anime, and not read the manga. :O I know there is no guarantee of a second season but, if there ever is one, I do not want to spoil myself. :O
I actually came on to ask some questions and forgot all about it when I started posting. 1. What is that little metal wired box that Soubi threw down and stepped on? What did he destroy? To whose computer does it belong, if it even is a chip? Did crushing it mirror the result of Ritsuka's ability to destroy the "non-ordinary" dream? Am I getting off track? LOL 2. Why does Yayoi have the online gaming note? Could it be that Yayoi is Ritsuka's true fighter? Or that Ritsuka is actually a fighter himself (since he broke the dream spell?) and that Yayoi is R's sacrifice? If these questions are answered in the manga, then that's all you guys need to say -- no need to tell me what happens, I can wait. X ![]() ![]() |

1. I think it was supposed to Seimei who stepped on the box, not Soubi. It was, I think, some kind of device that interfered with electronic transmissions, and prevented Ritsuka from contacting Soubi on his cell. 2. Yayoi didn't have the note. He had the game that the note referred to, and that's how Ritsuka figured out what the note meant. |
