Quote: | Ozma Lee (Katsuyuki Konishi), the leader of the S.M.S. Skull Team that is fighting the Vajra on the frontlines, encounters a mysterious lifeform, different from even the Vajra, one day. This mysterious lifeform leaves an archival video of the Macross 7 colonization fleet with Ozma, Ranka (Megumi Nakajima), and Sheryl (May'n for singing, Aya Endo for dialogue). |
So it...gives them a VHS tape? :D
Anyway, it's interesting the original M7 director is writing it, maybe it'll be worth the time. I suppose that very last clip doesn't necessarily guarantee any new footage of the original cast, though...
Always nice to see some recognition for The Best Macross, all the same.

Yeah, that video tape looked strangely anachronistic.
I'm not completely convinced it's a good idea to go messing around with Macross 7 again now. It's a classic that's better left as it is.
Then again, it was nice to hear a snippet of "Totsugeki Love Heart"
Darn, I wish someone would license rescue all the rest of Macross already.

The VHS tape amused me. It's like someone turning up for a party holding a wax cylinder recording.
Then again, didn't Cowboy Bebop have an episode where they went to an antique shop to rummage up a betamax recorder?

Macross already. |
While I do see where you are coming from, I have to respectfully disagree with you. I thoroughly enjoyed Macross 7, the songs, the mecha and the characters and would really love to see what has happened to Basara and Mylene.
Seeing this new life and attention given to Macross 7 nearly brings (manly) tears to my eyes...

As always, mixing anime footage from 14 years apart is really, really distracting.
