We've already been through this. If you want to read the previous theads about it use the search function under "Forum Functions" in the blue border on the right.
But yes, it's ended. It's not likely that the TV show will continue after takahashi-san ends the manga.
Try the movies (I think a 4th one is in the making) and the manga if you want to continue the story.

LOL then I suggest you stay far far away from Rumiko Takashi's other creations except Maison Ikkoku the only one of her series that actly wrapped up and had a conclusion. (that I know of)
Ranma, Mermaids Scar/forrest,One Pound Gospel. Uratsai Yatsura and theres bound to be a couple more im missing all didn't pretty much didn't have a conclusion.

The TV series is over. Doesn't mean that they won't produce more in the form of OAV's not to mention the fact that the 4th movie was just released (I think I remember a theater date of 12/24/04) in Japan, not to mention that here in the States the 2nd movie is released to DVD on Tuesday and the 3rd movie is coming sometime in the future.

Movie 2 is great, I highly suggest picking it up, and I'm greatly anticipating the latest two films as well. You could also go play the Plastation game as well.

I think the first was put together better. But then there is the....Inu....Kagome....
When in the series does the 2nd mvie take place?

Don't worry old one arm will be prominently featured in the third film. At least it looks that way from the preview I saw.
As for movie two's place in the timeline it would have to be before the ending and after he learns to turn the Tetsaiga red to break barriers.

How can this happen! I mean did Rumiko run out of ideas for InuYasha? InuYasha Movies are great, but I think the eps. are better... Wait I take that back... No... Well I guess the Movies will have to do... But it takes so long for a Movie to be made (especially when the Movie is supposed to be released from another country first). Then you have to wait for it to come out on DVD, then you have to wait longer for it to be released to the U.S. I guess what I say doesn't matter. It won't bring back more InuYasha eps.

No, the manga is still ongoing. It's just the TV run that's over.

I originally heard it was supposed to be 200 episodes (forgot from where but since was when it first aired in October 2000). I originally had hope for Sunrise unlike Kitty Film which didn't really complete all of Takahashi-sensei's other work (the Ranma anime doesn't live up to half the greatness the manga has), but Sunrise just had to give it a lame ending. I know there will be movies and oavs, but I doubt it will have a complete ending.
Anyway, I'll get the rest of the manga the next time I go to Japan.

I think it's for the best that the TV show ended where it did. I've heard from others that they thought the TV show has been starting to get "old", and only around 80 episodes have been converted and released (or aired on AS) out of the 270 or so that were made.
I feel I'll never get bored of this show, though, no matter how long it goes. I also want to see the final ending (even though I'll probably read the highlights in NewType USA first).
btw, is anyone going to collect the entire series when it is all released?
