Poor guy, I hope they catch whoever did this to him. Did the guys who beat him up even know who he was?

That is pretty mean, why do people do such cruel crimes? Hopefully he is able to recover soon.

Seriously, I really wonder why people now and days have become so violent and do such crimes. I am sure if they asked for his autograph it would be worth more than stealing equipment. It would have caused less trouble as well.

Though, despite the crime, I laughed at "Literally beating the stuffing out of him" but wow, is the guy ok? No injuries?

Apparently Malmo is a dangerous place if you are different. Davis Cup fines Swedish tennis, bans Malmo as host

People in this world are just cruel, I'm sure the people didn't even know who he was and beat him up for no reason at all.

Guess Sweden is a bad place to visit if you're a pineapple :p

Stuff like this always makes me ashamed of my country.
And it feels very scary since I live only a few miles away from Malmö.
I reallu hope the police finds the not-so-nice-people.

I'd surmise that it was a case of some idiots seeing a guy in a costume with expensive looking equipment and they decided it'd be fun to do what they did. Too bad, really.

Wealth redistribution.

Why on earth was he by himself like that? As guards go, "man in pineapple costume" is not very intimidating so it's I'm not surprised when the thugs saw him they decided to help themselves to the equipment. The ridiculous thing is, film equipment can't be all that easy to turn into cash, so they'll probably just dump it later.

Heck, they might have just thought "hey lets beat that guy to a pulp for giggles" and taken the equipment as a bonus.

Kind of goes to the routine activity and lifestyle theories of crime, what with the whole lack of "capable guardians" in this situation. Even in Sweden, it's wise to have backup with you. Especially when people are out of work and pissed at everyone who has money.

Um, pineapple suit? How is that supposed to be at all fitting for a guard? I guess it could be intimidating if it were a demonic mutant pineapple, but it would seem like something full of stuffing would inhibit motion.

In all seriousness, I hope they catch the scum that did that and at least get the stolen goods back.

The pinapple suit isn't the question, why would you need guards is the question. Having been a photographer in Chicago I regularly had substantially more equipment than that dragging around and I was never acosted... I'm betting that this was "beat up the strange guy day". The equipment was incidental. My second thought was "isn't Sweden safer than that?" But bad stuff can happen anywhere...

I can't believe he was left alone. It is also sad that it even happened.

I'm afraid to think how much more he may have been hurt if he wasn't wearing the pineapple costume.
