PTRJMS is an official Participant of the Sakura Matsuri Japan Street Festival” at the National Cherry Blossom Festival
Akiba Fest is proud to announce our new J-music event: “ Pop the Rock Japan Music Showcase (PTRJMS) ”, is now an official evening event feature of the National Cherry Blossom Festival and will participate in the Japan‐America Society of Washington DC’s “Sakura Matsuri ‐ Japanese Street Festival earlier in the day before the big concert on April 4,2009. PTRJMS’s performing Pop and Rock sensations, Psychic Lover, Unicorn Table, Sister Mayo (Project R), Takayoshi Tanimoto (Project R), and Japanese Hip Hop artist Shing02, will make a small appearance at the Sakura Matsuri ‐ Japanese Street Festival’s J‐Pop Land to meet fans and sign merchandise. Later that evening, at 5PM, the Akiba Fest: Pop the Rock Japan Music Showcase will begin our show at the University of Maryland, Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center for an evening concert featuring all of the PTRJMS artists mentioned above. In addition to the music, there will also be giveaways, vendors, entertainer signings, and other entertainment to be announced in the upcoming months. The event is open to all ages and begins at 5PM. And low cost tickets are on sale now at www.akibafest.com Sakura Matsuri Japan Street Festival Running from 11AM to 6PM on April 4, 2009, the “Sakura Matsuri ‐ Japanese Street Festival.” is the most popular event at the Cherry Blossom Festival and is the largest Japanese Festival in the United States. This huge one‐day event shuts down a one‐mile stretch of Downtown Washington, DC, with over 140,000 visitors from around the nation attending, giving Akiba‐Fest its largest exposure to date.
