Hey everyone! Just curious as to what you watch/hear your anime on. Now don't go and say something silly like a TV. For example here is my setup.
A just bought a new Sharp Flat panel 32" TV today (plopped down around $3500 for that) but MAN is it beautiful. I'm rewaching everything now to see how crisp it is. Right now I have on Berserk, that show is an older (meaning style) anime, and it's crisp as can be, I can't wait to see X, or R.o.D. and stuff like that. To compliment the TV I have a Custom Sony speaker setup. Bought a decent receiver, and have 6.1 surround sound setup, along with a bunch of HDTV cables and all that junk. All in all I'd say my total home theater retails for about $5000. Yea...I'm a bit of a lunatic ^^ |

I use the following to watch my anime
JVC - Model XV-SA602SL - DVD Player JVC - Model AV-27F475 - 27in flat screen JVC - Model RX-6030VBK - AV Reciever The sound is output through JVC's 5.1 speaker system. I use Monster Cable Component and Digital Coax cables. I spent close to $800 on my system. |

Currently I have a couple of setups. In the living room I use my X-box for DVDs, with my PS-2 as backup, if I ever need it. I have the advanced AV pack for the X-Box, using S-video with RCA for sound into my 32" Toshiba. The fiber optic digital output on the the x-box goes to my rather inexpensive Kenwood 5.1/DTS receiver, and a mix-match of speakers bought at various times. The main L/R speakers are actually older then I am, but they still sound amazing.
In the bedroom, I have a 19" Magnaxov, using a Toshiba DVD player, and an inexpensive 100 watt surround sound system using digital coax. If I get lazy, and don't want to leave the comp, I use the DVD player on it, and throw it up on my dual 19" monitors (well one of them anyway), and either use the 2.1 speakers on my comp, or digital coax connection that goes into my aforementioned Kenwood receiver. |

I have a rather unusual setup: I bought a $1000 digital projector -- like they use in offices -- and a medium-cost computer sound system ($120 or so). I hooked that up to my DVD player. I have the projector pointed at a wall, so I can watch anime in a format approaching that of a movie theater.
Interestingly, a lot of anime suffers from being seen this big. A lot of it's meant for TV screens, so there's very little detail to appreciate when seeing it on a nine-foot screen. |

I have a Samsung 26" widescreen (TX P2670WH) HDTV. It was about $699.
I also have an Epson Powerlite Home 10+ projector. It's DLP, native 16:9 widescreen, and is 1200 lumens. It came with an 80" screen too. I use a Samsung DVD (Hd841) DVD player. I also have an HDTV digital cable setup with Comcast. They run through my Yamaha 5.1 channel stereo. |

I watch it on my 5 inch tv because I'm poor. (being sarcastic)
Seriously, this seem like a thread for braggers with lots of money. |

For a while, building a home theater was a hobby. It is very expensive though.
Sorry if it came across as bragging. I don't know many other people that have similar stuff; it was cool to see people building theaters. |

Wouldn't that more be like its native projection and can be zoomed in or out depending on what you want? |

My simple set-up:
- 15" Mono TV - The very first, original no-frills Playstation 2 My computer set-up: - Dolby Digital-quality Stereo on a 10-Watt, DBB-equipped, five-preset-level sound system. - 15" screen (at higher resolution) - Cyberlink PowerDVD Someday, I will get 5.1 and a big TV. I just have to win the lottery first. |

Heh, what brand? Back in 1976 my parents had a wooden TV that was probably 27", they got rid of it in 1982 because a pastor said they should (TV is teh evil - Pastor actually had a 13" B/W TV in his house - Imagine that). My parents bought a 19" TV in 1986 that lasted until 1992 (horizontal capacitor went out - picture reduced to a 4 inch wide stip across the TV). I think this was from Sears, but an off-brand. You actually had to get up and change the channel and volume, and turn the TV on or off... The cabinet was metal with fake wood grain painted on it. They also had a Panasonic VHS VCR, could only manually tune in 15 channels, this lasted until 2002, they bought it at the same time as the TV. To replace that VCR, they got a Magnanvox VCR, the thing only lasted about 2 years. I gave them my JVC VCR/DVD combo deck, much better that the last one, parents report that the deck actually clears up the reception on the TV. My brother bought a 19" Magnavox TV for them for Christmas in 1992, it lasted until this year, 12 years - a record for them (black cabinet) They bought themselves a 24" (Oooo... parents are going for big) Sharp TV this month (after watching TV on a 13" screen using their bedroom TV for about 2 months). I recommended that they get a TV with composite (the red/yellow/white connectors) and S-Video connectors so they could connect the deck to the TV that way. |
