LOL
But this movie looks sweet.
It's shot in 70 mm, got incredible use of colors...
We'll see how those FX look on the big screen but I am amped.
Since there's little to no chance of this coming out in the US theaters, I picked up a plane ticket. I'm flying out at the end of April to catch this and GITS 2.
I really hope they don't delay either film or I'll be stuck in Tokyo with nothing to do for a few days. Actually, even that doesn't sound so bad haha

The guy directing Casshern is Utada Hikaru's husband. So Utada's new song will be the movie's theme song

Now, that looks like a good sci-fi movie. With music from Hikki to boot. I will have to keep an eye out for this one down the line. Hopefully, it's not too far down the line.

Well I've been to Japan an average of 1-2 x a year, annually, since 1995.
I've never gone on a tour package. First few times I went was on tour with a band so I met a lot of people and basically stay with them everytime.
If you've never been or are going it solo, pick up the Otaku Guide to Tokyo, published by Kodansha. It is entirely in Japanese, but it has detailed maps of every managa, anime, toy shop in Tokyo.
It also features blurbs on every shop, photos, contact phone #'s, best/cheapest routes, etc etc.
It's available from Amazon Japan.
Other than that, check out Nakano Broadway. It has none of the tourist alure of Akibah but the selection is better and the prices are generally 20-30% cheaper than Akibah or Shinjuku. Nakano Broadway is located right outside the Nakano Train Station and is truly a wretched hive of otaku and anime.
Some of my normal firends who've visited Japan have recanted to me the expressions on their "non-anime otaku" friends faces when they mentioned they were going to Nakano.
"Nakano? Th-that's an otaku town. Very strange people are there."
Oh yeah, and if you find it in Shibuya, you can definitely get it elsewhere cheaper.
Any more questions just PM me.

Yeah, and his name is simular to Casshan's ally/dog freigler, but without the cyber enhancments. Although Casshan's Helmet was in the movie,he goes through the movie without wearing it.
almost like Stallone as Judge Dredd. (sans Helmet) hopefully it will fare pretty well once dreamworks brings the movie to the states. next: Devilman!
