Not surprised at all. Rosario + Vampire has been a hit with manga fans here since it came over.
On a side-note, I need to start picking up the manga again. The last volume of Season II I got was like 4 or 5.

Glad too see Rosario + Vampire getting the popularity it deserves. It turned out to be a very excellent manga & is still getting better with every chapter that releases & it still has a lot more potential! I'm extremely happy that I bought this volume & I will be picking up the another volumes that release this year aswell.
Season 2 is 100 times better than season 1, in my opinion.

Actually, there is going to be more than 10 volumes this season; I'm guessing there is going to be another 3 or more volumes before this season ends.

It's nice to see the manga getting respect here. If only that god awful GONZO anime adaption didn;t exist...

The anime does have its fans, and I am one of them.
It is possible that some people decided to try the manga because of the anime. If they buy the manga expecting to see the nudity that was in the second season of the anime they will be very disappointed, but they still might like the manga and keep buying it.
I am also a fan of the manga. I have bought all of the volumes that Viz has released. I tried the anime because I like the manga. Fortunately, for me, I enjoyed the things that were different in the anime. Well, I did not like the way that the anime changed Tsukune, but he is a guy so he doesn't matter.

I don't dislike the anime, but I think To Love Ru is a lot better on a kind of equivalent basis since it's about equal on fanservice but I think it's better in just about every category including that one, particularly in the latter parts.
I do tend to agree with others that the 2nd season was better than the first for Rosario.
"Well, I did not like the way that the anime changed Tsukune"
Can you be more specific? I'm kind of curious whenever people say that the manga is better for things.

It seemed to me that the anime made Tsukune a typical harem male wimp. He did show some strength and courage at the end of the first season, but that was an exception.
In the manga he started out rather weak and frightened, for good reason, but he developed and became a strong leading character. By the end of the first season Tsukune was very impressive when he got into tough situations. The reasons for that would be a spoiler and they were not covered in the anime.
Of course this is my opinion and is based on my memories of the manga and anime. It is possible that I might have missed something, or might not be remembering everything correctly. (How is that for a disclaimer?)
