Let's count the number of Shonen Jump anime that have been shown on Cartoon Network.
....
....
....
Well, Yu-gi-oh, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Knights of the Zodiac, Naruto, One Piece, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo and Dragonball have all made it to Atlanta or will make it eventually (8 total). The only two I see that have been on TV somewhere else are Ultimate Muscle and Shaman King. I wouldn't be surprised if Hikaru no Go, Bleach, AND Prince of Tennis would fall into place as well once they get picked up.

See here's the thing though. Most of the titles you have mentioned are either action/fighting type shows or a card game show which the TCG are really popular among many. Prince of Tennis is a longer series, that's very popular in Japan and that focuses on a sport that does not have extreme popularity here in the U.S. Sure it will probably be picked up by someone in the future. But, I kind of doubt C.N. or any other network will pick it up. Of, course there is always a small chance. But, as I said look at what happened to a show of similar status Detective Conan except that that was a mystery show.

On the other hand, AS has been gaining with the female audience, so I wouldn't be surprised to see one or another show with romantic elements appearing at some point (Blue Gender has perhaps been the only one they've aired with a full-scale "romance" developing fairly central to the plot and current timeline of the story). |
(Careful with the quote tag there.)
The two blocks are called Adult Swim Action and Adult Swim Comedy. ASComedy mostly caters to the kind of toilet humor teens and college kids like. The growth of the female audience isn't going to fundamentally alter either block's choices of programming. If people want a girls block on CN, then they need to convince Williams Street that it can be profitable. |
Given what passes for a lot of "girl's anime"...I don't know that I'd want an anime girly block on CN/AS! I'm more then happy to watch action shows that might include romance (Blue Gender), funbling attempts towards romance (Inuyasha), or hinted-at possible future romance (Witch Hunter Robin).

I see they've finally stopped with the Cowboy Bebop reruns. I've watched the show too many times.

Let us pray it stays that way. I completley lost all interest in that anime when CN decided to repeat it ad nausem.

Well they must have changed their minds because they are playing a commercial tonight that states its going to show a week earlyer on the 14th at 12am and the schedule on the site also states this. http://schedule.adultswim.com/servlet/ScheduleServlet?action=AS&theDate=5/14/05&timeZone=EST

I noticed that as well. They switched Metropolis with the InuYasha movie - InuYasha was suppose to air May 14 and Metropolis on May 21, but now the InuYasha movie will air May 21. It doesn't matter to me; I'm still going to watch both of them.

Adult Swim's on a roll this month. If they did it the beginning of next month, I'd fail all of my finals. (I'll do that anyway)

Yay their keeping trigun I'm so happy. I just got into that show like 4 weeks ago. And I'm really happy they are having Inuyasha at 11:00 that works out great for me. FLCL was a extreamly weird ass show but funny as hell though. I also want them to put fruit baskets on their too. i always wanted to check that show out. They also should put Chrono Cursade on that show is so freaken good. lol, nun killing demons with guns lol. I saw the first 12 eppis on dvd. there is funny parts and action. they should also show Steel Angel Kurumi, Ayashi no Ceres, Fushigi Yuugi, Chobits, and Spiral: Bonds of Reasoning also. they also show bring back Kenshin. Why in the hell did they take it off in the first place, ya know?

Spiral and Chrono Crusade would make great editions to AS, but I doubt that ADV will let another network air one of their better properties, i.e., a show that waaaayyyy better than Super Milk-Chan. There's a better chance for Spiral to air on AS - that's a series that deserves an audience.

Because Kenshin wasn't doing well in the ratings, which is a shame because it is an excellent series.

Yeah, a couple of episodes at most in some "marathon." It was just there to get people to get interested in the show and then watch it on Fox.
