Really? Sakano/Gravitation, Takuya/Boys Be, Aya/Weiss Kreus. InuYasha/InuYasha, Rene/Neo Angelique, Retro/Dead Leaves(specifically the padded room scene. I love the noises he's making) I swear I can pick Wendee Lee out in the additional cast. My daughter can do the same for Daran Norris. I think certain people have certain tones that make them stand out to different people. I don't think it's the fans of the Japanese side that are dissing the English VA. I have a handful I like. It seems more the people who don't really even care about VAs who get annoyed characters in different titles sound alike which is insane. My god, it would be terrible if bands were only allowed 1 hit song, then had to go away so no one would have to hear the same band twice. Only 1 movie because these guys can't stand to see the same actor twice. It seems as though recognizing the voice ruins their little fantasy the anime characters are real. Which is not to be confused with hating a certain actor. I can accept that, but get over it. We all have people we dislike. If the actor is cast in a movie/show one wants to see, one either watches or not, but that actor has fans who will enjoy the role. One says "Damn it!" & moves on. I hate SpongeBob. I don't know why, but I do. My daughter knows I will not be in the room if SpongeBob is on. I really can't say why I hate SpongeBob, but I believe it's a combination of the voice & the style of speaking(something like fingernails on a chalkboard). Lots of people love SpongeBob. I say he's the anti-Christ & am satisfied doing my best not to hear him. People who hate JYB, Mignogna, Freeman, or whoever can do the same. With most anime, they usually have the option of watching it in Japanese & avoiding the voice while still seeing the show. |
