As much as I agree (and most Japanese, according to multiple surveys), with having more than a week left until it starts, it would be pointless, sending the athletes and their staff home who are already there would be a logistical nightmare. It should have happened months ago. |

Sunday night 7pm is prime time viewing understandable they'd go for that.
As they're trying to get maximum viewers for a mainstream anime wouldn't make sense to put it late at night. During the Olympics theres no great time during prime time hours of 6pm to 9pm because night time sessions / finals can last well in to the evening.. |

In a way, it's kind of a reminder that some things still are not in a good place. There will be no international spectators, which is a reminder that travel still is risky, and there has been plenty of coverage that the Olympics are pretty unpopular in Japan right now due to the risks involved. |
