A tendency I've observed is that when people get enamored with someone's art (be it anime or otherwise), they fail to consider that not their whole work has to follow the same style or themes. So when said artist does something opposite of what the fan liked, well, rejection happens. Sometimes it's because the artist did start exploring new grounds, more often it's because the fan wasn't aware of the breadth of their work.

I have several of his art books from the late 90's to 2010 time periods and there is a definite slide towards the uncomfortable as you trend towards the later years. And yes he always had some tendencies, but it almost appears as if his entire focus just shifted towards in post "Last Exile".

I still enjoy his artwork, but I will avoid some of the more creepier elements.. to put in nicely.

Nope still Dull. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Dr.Stone while hyped didn't do it for me..
Fire Force again not my thing.
Danmachi S2 not as good as previous outings.
Arifureta.. started pretty well but kinda fell flat.
Mao-Sama Retry... DULL
Oka-san anime.. generic.. with a very high dose of Creepy
Dumbells.. good times!
Kanata no Astra.. behind on this don't dislike it
Uchi no Musume.. DULL again
Hensuki.. meh
Tejina-Sempai.. ecchi but amusing.
Acclerator.. so far so good... really hope this doesn't go down the Index III path.
Kimestu no Yaiba.. still need to catch up on this as well.. so far so good.

I don't understand this assertion.
Are there anime fans nowadays surviving on what airs on open TV alone?

Can't you watch stuff on stream sites for free, just delayed and with ads or something? No need to just limit yourself to TV even if you wanna keep it legal.

On a side note, I used to be a pretty big fan of Range Murata's art, but he went through this (loli) phase and he just lost me. It's pretty apparent who the character designer is but still with the (loli) focused art style.. so meh

To be quite honest, his art has always leaned that way. Take a look at most of his art books, the designs from Last Exile or Shangri-La, etc. Early teens characters with lots of steampunk and aviation-inspired tailored leather outfits.

You didn’t mention my favorite part—Tilarna’s quest for (platonic) girlfriends! She immediately hits it off with Kei’s ex Cecil, and their teamwork in teasing him is hilarious. The drama in the previous episode (the “politician busted at a brothel” one) worked because of how much Tilarna just wanted a friend.

The show is really uneven, the fight scenes are poorly animated, the world building leaves a lot to be desired, and the fanservice mined out of Tilarna’s body being taken over by a cat, complete with urine fetish, was downright creepy. But it’s fun and usually funny (the porn mag ep was my favorite, too. As for why the fantasy folk might be interested in “vanilla” porn mags—I think they made it clear that Tilarna’s world doesn’t have much photography).

This has become my "train wreck I love to watch" show for this season. I'm (mostly ) happy; Tilarna's visit to the litter box was something I really did not need. But otherwise, they can get as goofy with the cop-buddy cliches as they want. Pile it on. I want to see the vampire wreck some cars, maybe a train or jetliner. I want the wizard to buy out a men's clothing department store. I want Kei's boss to take him off the case because he's a loose cannon. Bring back the 80's, baby! Laughing

I really do enjoy the interaction between the characters, how wacky everything is and the concept of the entire show itself. It's refreshing, but I can't get past the choppy, still-framed fighting scenes. I just can't do it.

I suppose if I was just starting out on watching anime, it would be enjoyable but for me I unfortunately can't get past it, which sucks because I really was enjoying the weirdness Cop Craft brought to the table in comparison to other shows this season. It had a Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen vibe, but it still felt lacking in the end. This summer season has been really strong, and maybe that in itself has set me back from continuing. Maybe someday, I'll continue it.
