For an English language song, I'll go ahead and suggest/recommend "Lithium Flower" from the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex O.S.T. The song is in English, with the vocals by Scott Matthew, words by Tim Jensen, and music by Yoko Kanno.

Here is what I think I will opt for:
1. Tank! (My teacher loves jazz, and it shows of her ability to use music without lyrics, just dont count the no more than 5 words that they say at the beginning of the song)
2. Rise (non english and non japanese, is is quite an upbeat song)
3. Hemisphere (Japanese singing, and Sakamoto Maaya's voice is pretty easy on the ears)
4. Ask DNA (English singing, and I like the song.)
I dont really have access to some of the songs that you guys stated, since I really don't know where to find them. BUT (WAIT, there's more!) I would be eternally grateful for a site similar to I-Tunes that sells good anime/japanese/anime related music.

For some reason, I totally forgot to recommend that one. It's one of my favorites. It's especially odd that I didn't suggest it, since I kept thinking about it when I saw that Tim Jensen did the lyrics for Lithium Flower. What an odd girl I am. Anyway, very good choice. Actually, very good choices period. The only one I wasn't familiar with was Hemisphere, and given who sings it, I'm sure it's great too, and will be nice and pretty.

You could also add some of her work from the Macross Plus OVAS. Theres alot of good songs in that anime though i'm not sure of who does the vocals.

Macross Plus features the voices of Akino Arai, Mai Yamane, "Gabriella Robin" and several others.
I love Arai's voice, for some reason, especially in "Voices"
Always loved that song.
I also like much of her current work in GITS... it's pretty experimental, ne?
It would be quite a transition to compare some of the pure orchestral stuff from Macross Plus, or Memories and contrast it with something like "Be Human" or one of the Tachikoma songs from that album, or maybe Go DA DA (the Kazoo song from the second GITS OST) along with throwing a good jazz tune or two from Bebob, of course... I always loved "Mushroom Hunting", myself.

It went excellently! Everyone loved it! The teacher was truly impressed with the work I did on it.
I ended up using 6 full songs:
1. Tank!
2. Rise
3. Hemisphere
4. Ask DNA
5. Paino Bar
6. Call Me, Call Me
I also put in some interesting background on.
The picture of RahXephon that looks like a Harp also
This intro picture with RahXephon with his head wings out like real wings (near the end of the introductory theme)
A picture of Batou, Motoko, and a Tachikoma.
A picture of Faye Valentine. Sir logger loved this picture !
An intro picture of Cowboy Bebop with all the 4 main characters
and a couple more.
And yes, I included in my Bibliography everyone who posted in this thread. Thanks for all the help!
