Anyone notice how weirdly familiar the live action series of "Salary Man Kintaro", and the Live action "GTO" series are?
SMK: Ex-biker gang punk tries to clean up his life, and become the greatest Salaryman in all of Japan! GTO: Ex-biker gang punk wants to clean up his life, and decides to become the greatest Teacher in all of Japan! Heh heh..... But anyhoo, the Live action, and Animation do need to be put into seperate categories. But when it comes to the anime vs. the Manga, I'd definitley have to tip my hat to the Manga. |

While it goes down a bit in the last few volumes, I think that the manga is way better than either the anime or the live-action tv show. I greatly recommend it to anyone who has liked other incarnations of GTO.
As about the GTO live-action movie, I'd describe it as a hopeless piece of crap. Onizuka turns into some sort of cheesy wandering super-teacher, it's too sad to even look at. |
