AS scratching out Jin's "shit" was a good way of editing it, instead of just bleeping it out or replacing it with "crap". though i think most people did know that wasnt originally there... BTW, the dub isnt that bad. I like all the voices, and I didn't notice any Added puns in there... But I'm sure if i watched the original version, I'd like the original better.

Try reading the thread, next time.
I wrote: | It differs depending on the company. FUNimation edits their own stuff before giving it to Cartoon Network, whereas Bandai usually just lets Cartoon Network deal with it. Geneon seems to do the same thing that Bandai does. |

Don't [AS] just get the translated dubed versions and they edit the things they want.

Samurai Champloo is a Geneon release, so they might let AS work the edits.

Not like it'd be hard to edit. With shows like Champloo or FMA or GitS they just need to know someone who can work Final Cut Pro, make a few snips, and bam. With shows like Gundam SEED, they have to hire digital artists and animators to redraw and recomposite footage.

The dub is kinda meh....Steven Blum was the obvious choice for Mugen, and it really is his kind of part, but he's a bit of a cliche. He does fit Mugen decently enough, but I just keep thinking of Spike whenever I hear his voice, and not just in this show either
Fuu is the only one who I think fits. I'm glad they didn't make her too overly cutesy or to mature and sexy. She does sound like she is 16 (I think Fuu is 16...or is she 15?)
Jin is where I'm kind of pissed about it. Sparky Thorton does have a cool voice, but it's just not Jin. Jin had his really reclusive, suave and emotionally hollow voice. The English Jin is kind of emotionless, but his voice is WAY to husky and gruff. I also (unlike most people) like the Rurouni Kenshin dub, and he plays Saitoh in that, and that is a MUCH better part for him
as for the edits, I can't really speak for them since I haven't seen the uncut English yet...on DVD or anything. But nothing to noticable seemed to be missing from the show. I'm glad Adult Swim is awesome and is very linient with their edit policies now

Yeah, Sparky plays a better Saito.

When I first heard the scratch out I laughed about it... then I thought about it and noticed how much better it made that part, insted of having them replace it with something stupid... I don't really like the dub... but I don't hate it either... it's solid, but it could have been better... personally, i've been hearing good things about the paranoia agent dub... I can't wait for that when it premires on [AS]
