ADV couldn't even operate two studios in the same state to reduce costs. I don't think international co-operation will increase unless the dubbing industry grows enormously. |
Not quite sure what is behind your reasoning here. Industrial Smoke and Mirrors and Monster Island co-existed for several years. There were several factors behind the shutdown of MI. The number one issue, as mentioned by David Williams, was that ADV had gotten through a large backlog of work, and they would no longer have enough work to spread between the two studios. (IE it would no longer be cost effective) Another major factor is that the masters are all here in Houston, and had to be constantly shipped back and forth to Austin. So yes, ADV has reduced their costs, now that they have consolidated the work.
IS&M and MI are (in MI's case was) ADV owned studios. Off the top of my head FUNi, ADV, and CPM are the companies that actually own their own studios, while the rest of the companies contract their work out.

I appear to be agreeing with you and dlw, in that a single location is cheaper than two, even in the same state, let alone 3 countries at opposite ends of the earth.
Now, if doing a production in more than one country was the only feasible way of getting it done, then I suppose it's better than not at all - but I don't think Erufu should be holding out for much of that...

Since it's going to be dubbed, is that mean we can enter people in the English Cast in the Encyclopedia?

I don't think that it has been confirmed 100% if they are going to do it yet or not, so I am not sure.
