My all-time favorite series returns!!! It was never a matter of if, but rather when. Interesting to see that Oomori san is now chief director. I wonder if he will still be the sound director. |

I'm actually crying right now.
This is my absolute favorite anime. I had just about lost all hope for a new season, so this is the most unexpectedly amazing thing I've heard in a long time. What a time to be alive T^T |

Ok, I actually made an account just to post a reply. I'm so happy for this I actually cried. Omg, I'm so, so happy. Natsume Yuujinchou is one of my favourite anime, I even read the manga and the novels. I can't wait!

Oh how I've dreamed for a fifth season. It's been four long years, but we finally get to see our friends again. I missed Natsume and Nyanko-sensei so very much.
That's it, I'm officially declaring season five to be AOTY. |

Seriously I've been waiting for so long and I almost lost the hope for getting a new season but finally it's announced. I do wonder that is Brains Base going to animate this? Because they've given sequels to other studios and Natsume is their only anime that they've animated sequels to. |

It says in the article that Shuka will animate it. Not surprising, really. Shuka is headed by the animation producer who worked with Oomori san on all his Brains Base productions. I assume any sequels with Oomori san as director will be animated by Shuka. |

SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!!
This year is going to be an awesome one for sequels (Snow White With the Red Hair 2, Sailor Moon Crystal 3, Seven Deadly Sins 2, Heroic Legend of Arslan 2, Tenchi Muyo 4, Yona of the Dawn OVAs and now Natsume's Book of Friends 5) and prequels (Handa-kun, Magi: Sinbad no Bouken and Fairy Tail Zero) and already we've gotten some great originals like Erased and Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu along with the upcoming reboot of the cult classic Vampire Hunter D so I think 2016 is going to be the best year of anime we've had in a long time. |

What wonderful news this is!!! I seriously thought they'll not make any more season, but I'm so happy for this. I'm excited that there will be a show I can look forward to this fall.
