I hope they'll play it in Japanese with subtitles in theaters, too, not just the English version.

You don't get who the fans of this film are do you ? Rolling Eyes
No subtitled film can have that big a distribution in the US and still make money.

Nonaka: You know what I mean. If it were just Toei FUNi had to go through, this would've been picked up a while ago.

Well, they don't have to distribute the sub version on all 350 theaters, just those few where they think they could profit. The dub can take care of the rest of the theaters.

Hmm wondering if this will somehow premiere at Otakon. The timing matches up.

Wow, mention watching an anime in Japanese and people lose their minds. Theaters are big. They have more than one screening room, typically for multiple films. The movie's going to be in theaters for four days. I can't imagine why one room couldn't play the dub and another the original.

If you're a fan of this film, you're probably a fan of the Japanese version given no English dubbed release exists. Wink

Doesn't even need to be one room for the whole day, just some couple hours on the same room, e.g. the dub plays during the day while the sub gets the midnight screening.

We didn't got it a month after japan, the movie was shown the same month the japanese bluray came out, and about the dubbing and film itself, well it's your opinion.

Funimations' wallets must be doing back flips in joy!

I have a feeling this movie will make millions of dollars

I also have to ask, is version Funimation screening the original theatrical cut (85 Minutes) or the extended version (105 Minutes)?

I'm crossing my fingers that it's the extended version...

It will be the extended 105 minute version shown in theaters!
