“No fear, no pain, no good translations”

Well, that kind of sucks, but I didn't really plan on checking out the Kuuga manga anyways given some of what I've heard about it.

Translations issues aside, it gets…. Really bizarre.

Like the first monster was just some cult guy who likes to stuff women with gunpowder and light them on fire. He wasn’t a grongi, just some guy exploding women for kicks. In a book based off a (still fairly dark) Sunday morning kids show

Just fyi, promotional stuff being translated (and otherwise processed, eg. subtitling, dubbing) separately is not rare at all, it's basically the default with movie and TV series promos, anime included. Titles and marketing/promo copies are often translated without the translator even being aware of what the actual show is really about.

It's pretty embarrassing if the released material is of lower quality, though...

Looks like they put out ANOTHER announcement, and it looks like they intend to clean up the translations going forward. I hold my neck bearded breath.

It's weird to see ANN's article list her as a source but not cite her as an inciting incident.

What does that mean? How is a person an incident? Are you saying she incited them into releasing a bad translation?

"Highly respected translators" my ass.

The extra confusing thing is that the person credited with translation on this is fairly well respected with a lot of writing experience under his belt too so I am just... extra confused.

Has anyone asked them yet if they really were involved with the translation?
