I'm surprised that there isn't more Sailor Moon on the list, considering all the news about it this past year, and its enduring popularity.

Never underestimate the popularity of Fairy Tail, I guess. I'm not a huge Fairy Tail fan, but it would make a great addition to Toonami based on popularity alone. It seems to be up there with Naruto and Dragon Ball Z.

unfortunately it haven't happened which is kinda crazy. i mean it definitely makes sense for AS to have fairy tail in the lineup now that bleach have ended. there is so many times they can do reruns of AOT and space dandy before viewers get tired of it. not to mentioned kill la kill as well as psycho pass. considering that they got gurren lagan and years ago they showed stand alone complex and second gig, that on adult swim should have been a no brainer.

Blame fans with shit taste or morbid curiosity. No need to get mad with the article and/or ANN.

That "dumbest most asinine shit" would be in the interest articles I suspect. It wasn't counted in this list at all and has nothing to do with why Attack on Titan topped the list of news articles this year.

Wow, Naruto ending didn't crack the top 10. Just, wow. O_o

Maybe to that point people were already seeing that things come to an end, it was not a shocker. It could be also partly due to the fact that there were a number of news articles around Naruto's ending, so attention was dissipated to few articles instead of one.

It is probable because Naruto was the second most popular franchise this year after Attack on Titan (deserved, the best international seller in 2014). By the way: this, as well as absence of One Piece in the top five, was expected, as international (including USA-based) audience gets more interested in pre-"Chinification" Japanese folklore more than in westernized projects about adventures of pirates -- the subject beaten to death in the West. This is one of the reasons why Naruto, while dragging far behind One Piece in Japan, this year will become the biggest international seller of all time, surpassing even Dragon Ball.

To be fair, Naruto does not seem to be overrated. A lot of thought was spent on it on both strategic and tactical levels with what is happening there, as well as in the setting. That said, the source material still has its issues, and much of the anime is horribly drawn, and it lags and drags. So the final rating for it is "Very good", which is not over-rated.

Overall, I think that we have to congratulate Tempest, Zac and all of the team with successful year. Alexa charts do not lie, ANN does the right thing.

The only issue I am continuing to have is the CloudFlare screens before I see ANN homepage. It is super annoying considering that I am heavy user of internet, I visit countless sites both big and small, and none of them have their third-party server/cashing layer to be so blatant. Tempest, please promise us that 2015 will be the end of it. Smile

EDIT: As I was explained, the CloudFlare screen thing was temporary measure due to DDOS attack against ANN I was unaware of. Maybe that screen should tell viewers the reason why it appears.

I guess that works better, but SnK did get a ton of articles just on its dub, more than other series.

Seeing Sailor Moon Crystal get the top spot over Naruto and Attack on Titan makes Sailor Moon Crystal's negative reception so much more disappointing.
