Doesn't Sasaki still kind of count as a childhood friend? Even though Kyon knew her from junior high, she's still a girl from his past.

I want to read this so bad. I am so desperately tired of all the puerile, chuunibyou "world revolves around random teenager fpr no reason" stories in anime.

Childhood friends, however, are something that most people have.
IF anything is an otaku cliche, it's the "childhood friend who arbitrarily becomes male protagonist's love interest and is perfect safe, domestic waifu material."

Conception and premise come off as pretty weak. I think I'd like it more if it were a parody.
