Why? Just... why? Did Sentai lose a bet?

Why is it one of those shows that is better off given a sub only release?

Eh, I'm cool with it. I only watched about 3 episodes of this show and it wasn't that bad, but I keep hearing the second half is... well, not good...
I'll give it another try in dub. There are better choices of titles to give dubs though.

NobuFool's a pretty decent show. Can't imagine someone pulling off Miyano Mamoru's role as Nobunaga though.

I feel like the weirdest stuff gets dubbed while a lot of anime with far better dubbing potential are left unnoticed. This is an anime that delves quite a lot into Japanese history, I wonder how you even make this work as a dub?

I think it's easier to get dubbed shows on services like Netflix and Hulu, and they get more viewers that way. IIRC Justin Sevakis has said something about streaming being a significant source of revenue for US anime companies these days, so as long as a show seems like it has the potential to appeal to enough people that prefer dubs it makes sense to dub it...even if most of the people who watch the dub don't plan to buy the show on DVD or Blu-ray.
Well, I imagine that calculation really only holds once a company is dubbing enough other shows to bring a bunch of the ADR work in-house - once you have those folks on staff you might as well keep them busy.

Initially, I had no interest in Nobunaga the Fool, but now that it's going to have an English version prepped up, I may see about watching it sometime. I just hope that the show won't end up being a waste when I'm finished with it.

Well, I've watched at least one Japanese-historic anime show whose English version I thought worked pretty well under it: InuYasha.
Edit: I've had a change of heart. I won't be watching this show at all.

No, it's just amazingly bad. May be the least enjoable show in the whole season. Everything was bad. The characters were horrible, the mecha fights were lame, the plot was convoluted and they somhow managed to make historical awesome events boring.

Ah...Right...
Now I remember why I had no interest for this show. The characters didn't leave myself much of an impression upon first glance. Hence, I retract my earlier statement and will be sitting out on Nobunaga the Fool.

Since Monica Rial was Yoko Hikasa's counterpart in Campione and Infinite Stratos (I feel that Monica was good in these series), I can see her being Hikasa's counterpart a 3rd time in this series.

lol @ people saying NobuFool is "amazingly bad"
If it motivates anyone Nobunaga the Fool reminded me strongly of Death Note, because of their MCs.

I don't think NobuFool was bad, it was just...average. It doesn't stick out.
And Akechi is the best.

While they share the same VA, Light is smart while Nobunaga, as the title says, is a fool.

NICE!
This is my favorite show from 2014, and I'd really like to see it dubbed!
