While I'm not entirely stunned that Biribiri lost since Azusa is gonna win it all for whatever reason, I am surprised that Yamada beat Tenchi. Ah well, I've long since realized that my tastes in what's moe don't necessarily agree with the masses.

In all seriousness, I am baffled that Mafuyu got so many votes. I had no idea she was that popular.

* Azusa Nakano - K-ON!! - 1,052 (Winner)
Mikoto Misaka - A Certain Scientific Railgun - 1,026
Mio Akiyama - K-ON!! - 172

Anime hyper Wow. I wanted Mio to LOSE, not get her face smashed by a enormous deadly boulder than have her body cremated and fed to wild dogs!

BTW why Japan? Why do you give in to car ears and lolis?

Also, I realized that Kanade lost as well. I can die happy now.

Not too shocking that Shana, Hayate, Working and Saki lord over all, but I would like to see Nodoka get the boot. I think her character design was pretty lackluster. I don't think the artists knows how to draw girls with big boobs because they kinda made her look like a mutant compared to everyone else in the series.

When the competitors are all practically the same, it's hard for me to maintain interest.

Cutesy attributes plus a gamer chick makes her very appealing. The added bonus of her being a yaoi fangirl probably boosted female voters.

I guess so. I have a good idea for who I want left in the tournament, and even though I love K-ON, it's NOT Azusa.

Why a Mio loss? Very simple.

Just before this contest occured, the final to one of the other two Saimoe contests occured. In it, Mio had already won that contest, beating Mikoto Misaka to win the International Saimoe League Tourney. Now that she won that one, there was no need for Mio to win this one.(She may also win the Korean Best Moe Tournament as well).

Exactly. I actually took part in that tourny as well. Even though I thought these were two completely different tournaments, I didn't want Mio to win two of these. Then again, I didn't want her to win the other one either.

Power politics going on, I tell ya. Clearly Saimoe needs some kind of regulating body to prevent competitors from being affected by these sorts of voting trends... But that's just my perspective as an outside observer. Wink

You don't vote in Saimoe.

You anti-vote.

It is nice to see at least one close race in the group finals. So many of these have turned into such slaughters it makes me wonder why bother having all those preliminary rounds in the first place.
