Wonder how this'll do? In my opinion Xam'd is a pretty mediocre series, but assuming the artwork is done nicely, it might serve better as a manga. Nothing in it seems terribly hard to put onto paper.

I've been expecting this to happen. I was wondering just a few days ago if they would make one. Manga adaptations are rarely all that great, but I'm sure it'll still be enjoyable to read.

Does anyone know what the title translates to? Compass of something???

I understand that Xam'd: Lost Memories is a love it or hate it series, but I absolutely love it, and think it's the best anime I've seen since 2005. I'm assuming this is going to be along the same lines as the Eureka seveN manga adaptation, which departed dramatically from the anime and told a different story with the same characters. I wonder if they'll contract Kataoka and Kondou again. Those two are currently busy with Deadman Wonderland, but if this is only a quarterly release, it's a possibility.

Thanks. That seems fitting for several characters, but mostly Nakiami. Now that I think about it, a Raigyo prequel would be a nice direction for this to take as well.

It's definitely my favorite of the year.
I never read the Eureka Seven manga, but I remember hearing it was surprisingly good for a manga adaptation of an anime. I like the artwork (as well as the art in Deadman Wonderland), so it would be nice if that duo did this as well.

Hey, he could grow larger if spoiler[Furuichi's form] is any indication. Aside from which, as a Xam'd Akiyuki is substantially larger than any human being (although that isn't saying much in terms of anime...).

Anyway, good luck to the adaptation; I think an alternate story/Raigyo prequel are both good ideas, and preferable to a straight retelling.

No worries there. Bones has never done a straight retelling of any of their stories. A Raigyo prequel would be awesome, but I anticipate we're going to see some of that in a few episodes anyway. Let's see if my guess holds true.

I would not call it mediocre. Yes, it's not trying to break new ground, but it executes the genre really well. If it's your kind of genre, it's something you'd love, if it's not, then you probably won't like it. But the art, animation, and music are all top-notch.
