Well, we knew it was coming... and here are my comments regarding the music and animation.
The animation regarding the new OP is very well done though. I like the layout and use of the characters from the show. Although I do like the new OP animation, I found the new OP song to be a little weak. It just doesn't have the dynamic that you expect for this series and doesn't get the blood rushing. It's too slow paced and doesn't make you feel ready for the episode at all. -_- It's not too bad of a song, and it may eventually grow on me, but for now... Regarding the ending, it's all Winry and her mutt. In a lot of ways, it felt like this had a lower budget with a lot less work done on the visuals. Now, ahem, I can't complain too much about Winry showing off her... assets. But seriously, that's not enough to make me watch the ending regularly. The prior two ED themes had some soul behind them, something driving them. This new ED theme sounds like some female Japanese lounge lizard pumping out tunes on her portable CASIO. It doesn't work. (I'm sure I'll hear some opposing opinions, but this is my own.) |
