Wow! FUNimation's on a roll here! They're gonna help ADV just like they're doing Geneon! Go FUNimation!

I'm going to take a stab in guessing that it's over, ADV is finished.
Hopefully FUNi will do a better job, but I already thought they were well overloaded with their own titles and now Geneon's as well.

Guyver TV series was coproduced by ADV, how they did they lose the rights to their own show?
I really want to know WHY this has happened.

Ugh. How many times do you need to read up that the distribution/licensing mess was not entirely ADV's fault. And it was more of a contractual mess than that of the actual company's. Hopefully this will let ADV move on more smoothly in the future.
But I think it's pretty dubious for Funimation to just jump on the stuff ADV has lot out on. It almost feels devious.

I think that FUNi should request an STD test from ARM. They've had 1 too many partners within the last year.
At least my titles will get finished now.
Now we know why that comment was made in that icv2 interview.

Me, yesterday in another thread wrote: | FUNimation's to do list:
Buy Geneon's catalogue
- Buy ADV

Guess I was close enough to cross that one off. One left.

Funimation, I officially love you twice as much as I did yesterday!
They've long been my favorite American anime distributor, but this settles it once and for all. I get my Kanon now!
And there was much rejoicing.

Well, with ADV saying that they are trying to pick up more titles, I wouldn't write them off just yet. And the mass titles Funi has acquired basically brings them up to the level of the other big 2, Bandai and ADV. So the future looks pretty good from my standpoint right now!

I guess I'll finish Wallflower through them, though they're probably going to screw me over with those effing logos you can't skip...Don't know why they want Sgt. Frog, though, if ADV couldn't do anything with it.

Oh. My. God. I was just chuckling at those "Funimation's going to take over the industry" comments on the Geneon article, but...
Not to mention that now I have to wonder what will happen to ADV. I mean, they just lost over 30 titles, and there's all the other news over the past few months. I'm not paranoid yet, but I am definately nervous.

I'm waiting for the first 4 volumes of Welcome to the N.H.K. in the mail. (Should be here early next week). With only 2 volumes to go will I still be able to finish the series, or should I send them back not knowing how Funimation will handle their versions. Will they release indivudual discs or a box set to make me rebuy the episodes I have?
What would you do?

Wow... Can you say "monopoly"?
Needless to say, FUNi now owns my wallet for sure.

I personally think FUNimation's licensed too many titles, and probably will just end up flooding the market, more than doing the industry any favors.
