Hey there Music forums fans, got question for those out there who have some experience buying OST's.
As some of you may be aware, Macross Frontier OST 1 is out, and there will probably be 2-3 more. My question is this, will it be released in the U.S. or is my only option to grab it from Amazon Japan? Is there precedent of popular series having all the OST's released in a box-set esque format? And will the price be scaled more like U.S. music CD's (Roughly $15) rather then the $30 or so it costs now not including shipping. Thanks in advance, you guys are great! |

As of this moment, I don't think that the Macross Frontier OST will be released here in the US. If it is, it won't happen until the series itself is released in the US. To my knowledge only anime CDs from series released in the US ever make it to our store shelves. The only Macross CDs ever to be released in the US are the two Macross Plus OSTs and the Cream P U F CD.
For now your only option is to order the CD from online sources. |

Since Geneon's dead, it seems unlikely that the OST could ever come here. However, I don't mind personally, as I import all the time. On top of that, I found Geneon's releases to be severely lacking in quality. The sound was terrible.
Bandai USA might bring it out though, as they did with the Ghost in the Shell SAC soundtracks. The sound quality on those wasn't bad. |
