Well it's about time it ended -_-
Shall we count down the years to when One Piece, Naruto, and the like will end? >_>

HOLD IT. They said it will end...they didn't say it will HAVE AN ENDING. If this "ends" like Ranma did, without an end, after 11 years...I swear to god I will start a boycot.

I have been keeping up with Inuyasha, but has it been winding down at all? Or is the main girl going to go home and just never come back?
Thats not an ending. I hope it....ends decently. Or else there will be riots in the streets.

Wow, I hate to admit it... but I had forgotten this series was still going.
I never really kept up with it, though, I did watch the anime for a while. I am, actually a bit curious though as to how it is going to end. I await any rants/spoilers that might end up circulating the net as a result as well. I'm sure that no matter how it ends there are going to be people out there that aren't satisfied and are convinced that it's "not the true ending" or "it should've ended this way, I could've written a better ending than that!" because... there always seems to be.
Either way... I wonder what Rumiko's next project is going to be. Or maybe Inuyasha burned her out? It'll be interesting to see if maybe she has "peaked" and wont have another hit series again.
I'm also curious as to what those legions of fangirls/boys out there will latch onto once Naruto/Bleach/etcetc will latch onto once those series are done. (No offense to fans of those series, of course, but there are a lot of crazies out there that I've met whom are into those obsessively... I'm serious.)

Does anyone know if the manga is at a decent place for an ending? From the timing of the announcement it seems like it's just going to chop off rather suddenly, which would be horrible after such a long series.

Well, I haven't been keeping up with the manga, but hopefully it does end on a good note. Probably on a boring afternoon I'll start reading the manga again until the end, and hopefully I won't be disappointed about the ending like I was with the anime (seriously, the ending sucked).

Thank God. I mean, I love Inuyasha, but I'm glad it's getting some kind of ending - like Ranma 1/2, which IMHO fit the frantic-antic tone of the series.
I'm up to date on the latest chapter, and it does seem like a fitting place to end the story, what with Kagome inside the Shikon no Tama and Inuyasha close to saving her from continuing the curse. At least, that's what I'm getting from the story so far.

I haven't read any of the manga either, but I got the same feeling.

Well I hope that the compilations will continue in the US until the end of the series. I have not read the manga in a few years...

Wow. Just wow. I mean, I wanted to read the manga after it was complete and all the scans were out, but . . . this feels weird. I guess I didn't expect to end so soon after I found out that Naraku died. Not only that, but some of the people I know that have been following the series were saying that it was dragging on and on. When I hear that, I always think that the series will keep dragging on for a long time. I don't know. Like I said, this just feels kinda weird for me. I hope it gets a proper ending.

Yes, it's ready to end. Kikyou is dead, Naraku is dead, and the Shikon no Tama has been wished out of existence. There's really nothing left to do.
Shounen Sunday's website seems to hint that the final chapter will be an epilogue taking place three years later. Sort of an "it's all over, here's what everyone's up to now" thing.

That's good news. I hope that the we'll get an OVA/Movie or even better another TV season to conclude the anime.
