Question in the title.

I figure the series at least would have to end before an OST comes out. If the song is made for the anime I assume it wouldn't come out from anywhere else right? Basically, I want to know when I can listen to "My boyfriend is a pilot" from Macross Frontier without shooting noises and talking covering it Razz

It depends. For short series (12 episodes), one OST is usually released after the show finishes airing (within a month or two usually). For longer series (26+ episodes) they usually either release one OST after airing (again, within a month or two), or multiple ones during airing. So for the one in particular you are looking at (Macross Frontier), it is probably going to be just one volume after airing, or one volume halfway through airing, and a second volume after it finishes airing. This is just the general pattern though (from what I have seen buying OSTs).

The first Macross Frontier OST will be available June 4th, according to CDJapan.

No idea if "My Boyfriend's a Pilot" will be on it, though. Confused Amazon Japan might have the track listing.

List available on the comments. "My boyfriend is a pilot" isn't there.

Kaiba is still on it's 7th episode but thankfully the opening and ending themes are already available on iTunes. Bought them today Smile. Is making songs available sooner on iTunes something new or is it normal, PantsGoblin?

I was strolling through the Macross Frontier website and found that they have a small sample of the songs played on each episode. I still prefer Linn Minmay's versions of 私の彼はパイロット.

I have no idea. I have an iPod, but I rarely buy songs off of iTunes.
