I'm in 100% agreement with every word of the review. It starts slow and kinda boring, but gets much better as it goes along, and Abe is almost always annoying, which made Sano my touchstone.  Overall, I had an ok time with it and would watch more if they made it.

Yeah, while the teacher does get less annoying he never becomes anything more than an annoyance. I liked the show and would have liked some of the students to have received a bit more of the spotlight.

For anyone who actually wants to watch this, every word of this review is wrong. Haruaki is by far the best part of this series, every joke involving is hilarious. It's when you take him out of the equation, the jokes tend to fall flat.

The show itself is interesting, and I liked the ensemble cast with all the youkai, but Abe did make it hard to watch at times.

compared to how iruma kun acted in the beginning as well as tsukune from rosario + vampire , he's more or a blessing if nothing else

The latter I can very much agree with, the former I never found all that annoying. I will concede that there were like 4 episodes or so in which Abe was an addition instead of a curse but otherwise he did not make the show better for me.

in the former's case, he only got tolerable after getting inspirations from ameri about ambitions as well as meeting kirio. sure i can get why he dont want to stand out, but there is a limit on how bat shit scared you can be to the point that it gets kinda annoying. its probably the reason why some viewers loved evil cycle iruma!
and of course, dont get me started about tsukune!
the anime clearly did not do him justice compared to the manga!
