Well, the original author is a practicing doctor, so... we can trust them on that matter?

Yeah, I dropped this on episode three just because the actual mysteries were utterly underwhelming. As much as I like Ameku, a cute girl alone can't make me keep up with a show.

Heh, I'll check it out for myself regardless. I like medical drama like House M.D., and Grey's Anatomy, E.R, etc...

Well, I assume the manga is more accurate then the anime. So yeah, I'll lean towards that.

Eh, anyone who's read Black Jack knows that an author having a medical license doesn't stop them from prioritizing an interesting story over strict adherence to medical fact.

That said, if Ameku's author is on record claiming everything they present is factually legit, I'm not really inclined to disbelieve them.

Here’s hoping that episode 4 brings back Anime Columbo who was sorely missed in episode 3.

In my opinion this seems to be the bastard offspring of House and In/Spectre more than anything else so far. And Takao is the new Kotoko: short, a need to show off her superior intellect, arrogant, as well as only doing the job because it's interesting and because she needs to in order to get what she wants.

Yeah, the 3rd episode definitely had the problem that I, with no medical qualifications, could basically diagnose the situation immediately. That really makes the whole thing unimpressive and lacking tension.

I often quite like procedurals in the anime format because the short running time makes them high tempo and focused (live action procedurals I very often find to drag or be mid soap operas in disguise). But they still need a good enough thing to procedure through.

Still, I'll probably stick with it since its episodic so it can't go off a cliff.

Somewhat unusual that its based on a novel series. The last Japanese mystery novel adaptation I recall is F: The Perfect Insider.
