I guess Sunrise has no idea how to adapt the already finished Hathaway novels that even Tomino retconned or they have more faith on the money Freedom made.

I guess you can say long live cosmic era.
Indeed long wait for movie & now freedom zero yet it a prequel storyline? Overall cosmic era is back & if get dub maybe this time bring back more of originals dub cast to have proper feel once again. |

They are still working on Hathaway, as stated recently by Ogata. The Gundam franchise has never been afraid of working on multiple projects at the same time. As for this new project, I'm guessing it will be about the "Freedom hijacking" incident that is mentioned in the movie but never fully explained. |

Or, you know, producing a great adaptation takes time, especially at the fidelity of the first movie. |
