I wonder if they are gonna tone down the cutscenes and expand more the gameplay. Probably the original's weakest part. Especially during the escort mission part.

Seems redundant to do that when you can just skip them.

A story can be more enjoyable if the ratio between cutscenes and gameplay is balanced. Snake Eater even had a long of cutscene of two presidents to explain us why Boss' defection with Volgin is bad. Metal Gear Rising had shorter cutscenes. Resident Evil 4 is probably better example, something the remake keep.

Doubtful. Some hands-on previews have noted that things like loading screens between areas were still there, even though it would be easy to eliminate them on current hardware. Konami has also made it a point that the script, including audio recordings, will be the same, with the exception being any audio tutorials referring to buttons that might not apply to the particular control scheme. From what they've said, the only substantial changes will be the inclusion of options for controls and camera angles, such as shooting being on the shoulder buttons like it is for most games.
For better or worse, this remake is going to be the same thing in a new engine.

It is a 1:1 Remake. So everything is EXACTLY the same excepting controls and a few minor gameplay and menu UI tweaks bringing it closer to MGSV.
My major complaint is that the realistic lighting and shadows completely alter the cutscenes and you can hardly see the characters eyes and that negatively impacts the direction and presentation. Konami should have altered lighting conditions in cutscenes with additional lighting to preserve the tone and style of the original.

Frankly I just want to know the reasoning for calling it Delta. Like, that's not the 3rd letter in the Greek alphabet so I don't know what they're going for.
Also I really hope they still have stupid stuff like the Croc Hat in the game. Some of the silliness of earlier MGS titles was something I felt was missing from MGS5, much as I love that game.

Rising was a hack & slash that as I recall was not the exactly the original vision of what Kojima envisioned. But still you can make the cutscenes skippable while increasing the amount of gameplay segments.

I was gonna say it’s because as Delta represents the fourth letter of the alphabet. It’s the fourth version of Snake Eater After the original, Subsistence, and 3D.
But of course you’d have to ignore the HD version, Master Collection, The Novelization, & The Pachislot version.

It would be a sight to see if Konami is the company that puts out one of the most faithful remakes in modern times. And makes the fact Silent Hill 2's remake was outsourced to Bloober Team all the more disappointing.
