Super excited! Looks like there will be character customization! I can’t wait to see who the romanceable characters are.

I know there are circles out there that are quite disappointed with what little information we've received and what we have seen seems to be treading the same grounds as we've seen with Pioneers of Olive Town. I can't say I don't disagree with some of those takes, and admittedly I do wish we saw more of what this game is supposed to be (in addition to wanting info on the other Story of Seasons game announced at the same time). But what we're seeing here is still rather nice! While I'm nervous about how big this world might be, I'm still curious to explore it. Adding a gliding mechanic is cool, although I'm lowkey fearing it's going to be tricky to control. The only game I've otherwise played with such a mechanic is Pokemon Scarlet, and the flying/gliding mechanic in that game is clunky and not as useful as I'd love it to be. I'll hold my reservations, though!

I think my one hope is that this game doesn't end up feeling like Stardew Valley with a Story of Seasons skin. I do love Pioneers of Olive Town, and I might replay that game in the meantime while waiting for the new installment, but it did bother me how much of the game felt like it was taking from Stardew. Particularly with the crafting and makers. It felt so much more like it was trying to copy its rival versus evolving into its own thing. But perhaps I was too spoiled by the two titles on the 3DS, which I think are probably two of the best titles in the entire franchise.
