Does anyone remember when US distributors used to create licensed soundtracks for anime back in the 90s and 2000s and that made it hip and cool. Pokémon the first and second movie used pop soundtracks, Digimon had pop punk and rock, and Yugioh had nu metal and rock. Does anyone missed those times?

Don't remember it being that big of a thing. Except for those big titles and probably Final Fantasy.

What I don't like is all the Japanese anime music being region blocked by Apple for iTunes.

Manga UK also did this in the UK at least once with Space Adventure Cobra's dub containing music by the music band Yello hence why the dub doesn't appear on Discotek's release of the Cobra movie. However if you want the the UK dub on a legal DVD you have to buy it from France released in 2001. However in sometime between early 2002 - late 2007 they must have lost the licence to the music as in 2008 they started selling the Streamline dub on DVD.
