But this is not a remake of anything, these 4 episodes are original.

I don't know where you got this from, but the official site literally states it's a new story. Can't get a bigger confirmation than that.

The 21st anniversary begins October 3rd. They were already cutting it close in the last month of the anniversary airing it in September. If it airs in October then the purpose for it being a 20th anniversary celebration is lost.

The trailer for the series was literally just redone scenes from the original.

That's not the footage from the upcoming episodes. They reused some clips from the Road of Naruto PV from last year.
I know the marketing for this project sucks, but I didn't think people would be this confused.

Pierrot are arguably the most infamous abusers of filler in shonen anime history, so why does it not shock me that they couldn't even manage to get four measly episodes out on time?

Why would they need to make a remake the show about Boruto's dad when the show about Boruto is already pretty much a retread of the same story beats?

Naruto is popular but not THAT popular. Boruto is filling in that gap, with filler too.

……No it’s not?
I don’t recall Naruto and his father having tension with one another, Naruto being one of the best students in his class with substantial mastery over his chakra, Sasuke having an absentee father that also trains Naruto, Or Naruto & Sasuke being able to get along completely fine without issue. Or Naruto having an adopted brother.
