Is this the original TV broadcast of Escaflowne or the extended remastered edition with the additional scenes? I already have the original Bandai release on DVD but I might be curious to watch the Crunchyroll stream if they have the extended cut.

The extended cut is kind of weird, as it kind of spoils a major reveal by having some dialog off hand mention it much earlier. I wish they'd just made a minor tweak to the dialog so that reveal wasn't spoiled. The rest of it was good additions, although not much footage was added in the end.

You can see them all on YouTube, even before the whole Kickstarter thing. There are nine minutes in total, and it is easily skiable, as it is mostly short pieces of dialogue that have no real bearing on anything.

Holy crap! So it was. Anyway, may finally be time I re-watch it.
