It would appear that Sakura Quest has not managed to recapture the same spark that Shirobako did. That's a shame. I like it a bit, but it definitely doesn't hold the same special place in my heart.
Glad to see the numbers for LWA are actually pretty decent. It's not just a Western thing, that's for sure.

The committee behind Sakura Quest would have made so much more money with a second season of Shirobako. Oh well, it's pleasant enough. Can't always have it hit, but still, a 2 cour series where vol 1 (with the event ticket) is listed by Oricon with a little over 1k sales? Yikes.

Sales of Sakura Quest are a bit lower than I thought it would get, but still a good net.

Seeing symphogear boxset is sad cause I would have loved to import it had it been subbed.

I was going to say MHA sales makes me sad, but it's almost 1:1 with dvd sales. 4k total is decent.

Oh clockwork planet you deserved a much better adaptation. I can only dream of what could have been.

I found the anime to be very enjoyable only behind Akashic Records as my favorite show of the spring. Also the only two shows of the spring I'm hoping get a second seasons. Either way Ill be picking up the source material for both.

Guess Japan loved Frame Armed Girls better than the West did.

You're looking at two completely different committees here.
Shirobako:
Warner Brothers Japan
PA Works
Hakuhodo DY Music & Pictures
Klockworx
Sotsu
Movic
Docomo Anime Store
BS Fuji
Sakura Quest:
Toho
Houbunsha
PA Works
AT-X
ABC Animation
BS11
Sony PCL
Said committee couldn't make a second season of Shirobako because they came together to make a season of Sakura Quest. It just happened that this project wasn't as successful as they had likely hoped (due to past success with Hanasaku Iroha and Shirobako and promoted as the continuation in that trend of productions).

Starmyu doing really well at +6000 total copies, considering that the profits from this kind of show comes mainly from the CD releases.

Sakura Quest bombed, but after the monumental flop of Attack on Titan season 2 nothing surprises me anymore.

For those wondering why Frame Arms Girl sold so highly, the Blu ray came with a plastic model kit for the girls of the show. So it's more of a figure pre order, than a Blu ray preorder.

Well, it's not about the series - it's the nice disc bonus, because Kotobukiya included in the disc release of the "plastic model building" series... the model kit of Gourai.

I tried to get into Sakura Quest since I absolutely loved Shirobako but imo it was, while decent, a huge step down that could not hold my interest.
