What? Why is there a "cross-over" convention over Naruto and Star Trek? lol

This actually sounds like a pretty interesting idea. Cross promotion is rarely a bad idea. Speaking as someone who was once a fairly huge Star Trek fan, there might very well be future anime fans amongst the hordes of Trekkies.
Something like this could be of great benefit to anime fandom. Star Trek is pretty much second only to Star Wars in the size and fanaticism of it's fans, so if you could get more of those fans into anime as well, think of the benefits.
Any fan base willing to pay over a hundred bucks for a season boxset will probably not balk at a slightly more expensive than normal anime DVD. We could use more of that type of fan.
Besides, at the very least this will probably get some people talking about anime, and that alone will be worth something.

No offense but the themes couldn't be anymore different. I can't wait to see how riduculous the cos-playing will be against these two groups. The coversation between these two group will be totally embrassing.

+Mr. Spock = nullfies the temporal flux that destroys the very fabric of the universe
If Leonard Nimoy or Patrick Stewart are coming to this convention, then I'd say that easily isolates the Narutoids.

I think this is going to epic fail. My guesses are the Trekkies will be the majority and the Narutards are going to be overrun.
If anyone here goes give me the dirt. Because while I have no hopes for this con, it is an intersting crossover.

..... What? Why? Can anyone here give me an explanation containing a reasonable amount of logic on why these two, of all fandoms, would have a cross-con?

The idea scares me but makes me dream of a whole new type of anime where Captain Kirk kicked ass by summoning snakes. Sweet.

...come again?
Wonder what the cosplay will look like >D
But aren't Star Trek fans generally quite a bit older than Naruto fans...?

I don't go to cons (no interested friends & am not the type to go alone), but I like Star Trek and Naruto both very much. They are not similar at all, but I do like both of them. I'd say a person who doesn't have range to like things a lot different than Star Trek has very little range at all.

As if the cosplay already isn't bad enough for Narutards. Plus I really don't wanna see someone try and cosplay a Sexy no Jutsu Orion Slavegirl cosplay.

Ridiculously obsessive fans who dress up in funny outfits, make up disgusting stories and drawings and where characters have sex with each other completely out of context, and actually think this crap is real.
