Not too surprising imo. I hope we find out the episode # count soon...and hoping it will be a double split cour.
Although realistically speaking, it'll likely get the LB! treatment with 2 cour + 1 more season.

Rewrite is almost as long as Clannad (and 30% longer than standard Little Busters), so I would only assume it should be around the same length as Clannad in anime episodes. Unless they cut more stuff than KEY did in Clannad...which was a lot already. I'm sad that they didn't show any actual footage. Since 8-Bits previous works have mostly been garbage, I was hoping to get some footage to help relieve my fears a bit.

As long as it's a good episode count I'll have faith in the adaption.

Even if the episode count is good, it still doesn't mean the adaption will be.
Without spoilers, this will be a hard thing to adapt without doing it as an omnibus style.

What have you watched from them recently? Visually, their last couple of works have had great art direction and have been very well animated too. And given the involvement of Key and Aniplex with this project, I have no doubt that this will be plenty attractive.

I should probably hurry up and finish the last couple of routes in the visual novel before the anime airs. Chances are, the anime will not outperform the original VN, as they rarely do anyway. Either way, I'll be looking forward to seeing another one of Key's works in anime form.
Also, I feel compelled to point out that two of the characters' names are spelt incorrectly in the article, as they are probably two of my favorites. It should be: Akane Senri, and Shizuru Nakatsu.

Just wondering, what does this even mean? For me, an omnibus is just a bigger collection of a manga, usually meaning that they release a fatter book with 2-3 volumes worth of content. So, I'm not sure what the format would mean when put towards an anime...40 minute episodes?
As for the anime itself, I do wonder how they'll go about it. Will they end up cramming in so much, as to cover as many of the routes as possible, in order to try to appease people. Or, will they borrow bits and pieces from routes, in order to make one cohesive narrative that may not make complete sense without borrowing a bit from other routes.
I've no idea how this may work, as I've not read the VN. Either way, if the story is as dense as people say, the results could be interesting to see...possibly car-crash interesting...(though, personally, hate it when people slow down to look at a crash when driving)
Personally...I've not seen so many fans of a VN be so negative over an anime adaption, as I have for Rewrite. It may be that I'm just coming across more of those being negative for this one, but no other VN adaption has gotten the type of reception I'm seeing...before the anime starts.

It means each route will be adapted separately just like they are in the VN. Yosuga no Sora and Amagami SS did it so it's not unheard of for anime. I seriously doubt they will try to combine them, so I don't think we have anything to worry about.

More often than not, anime adaptations tend to follow either the Common Route (which is usually the most open-ended ones), or the True Route. If the adaptation doesn't go along any particular Route, then it will try to show as many Routes as possible (à la Yosuga no Sora).
I'm hoping for a multi-cour show (at least 2).

Should be "Senri" (as it's spelled later in the article).

Basically they adapt one of the character routes from the VN and then go back in time to adapt another route. The reason this has to be done for Rewrite is the character routes have events (And some are romance dependent) that prevent the anime team from adapting the VN the normal way.
Plus it being omnibus is a plot point.

Akane's expression. It's just so....gentle. Doesn't have that look on her face that says "I don't wanna deal with this" that I've come to love. It bothers me a little. Just a little though. And besides, this is just a few samples. Not like it's gonna be like that the whole anime. Aside from that, I'm happy that all of the cast are returning.

So it's just like Little Busters then?

Mostly. LB was able to hide the fact that each girl's route were each part of a time loop. With Rewrite it will (supposedly) be pretty obvious.

Good, changing any of the main cast from the VN would be a big loss (especially Chihaya's IMO).
Now we need confirmation of Yoshino and Esaka's voice actors returning.
