Please, please can this find its way west as it combines my own twin passions of anime/manga and art history... but I'm not holding my breath 
PS: It has always amazed me that arguably the three greatest artists in the entire history of art should not only have been alive at exactly the same time, but also worked in the same small area of what is now Italy. Mind you, when Leonardo and Michelangelo lived near each other in Florence, they loathed each other so much it is said that each would cross to the opposite side of the street to avoid walking past each other! (Raphael though was apparently a much more affable chap, and was on good terms with both of the others.)

Well I highly doubt God just rolled the dice and said "Wow, looks like 1500s Florence just happens to get the 3 great artists." Artists are really influenced by the culture and environment around them.

Is that other book questioning, debating or arguing for a global education? Because they have very different connotations.

Questioning. She's basically arguing that while global exposure isn't necessarily a bad thing, Japanese parents invest too much time and money into it (sending their kids to American colleges, paying for extra English classes, etc.).
