Haven't watched this new series yet (i'm gonna wait till it's all out)... But watching this promo video... it seems so 3D-ish, the transformations... (is that how it is in the series too?)...

Anyways... it seems really good. I can't wait to marathon it later on!

Just the transformations so far.

It's really good so far. The 3D the only thing that I'm not wild about with the new series. Hopefully they just keep it in the transformations.

Yes, the transformations are in CG
Fortunately the attacks aren't, but it's still jarring none the less

I'm still not used to the CG transformations.

Very Happy Oh yes. "Look at how sexy we are when we despair and kneel and fall down!"

Not into the CGI that much, like near the end. Everything else was pretty!

Honestly the CG is growing on me, especially after seeing Sailor Mercury's sequence today, I'm really not hating it as much as I used to.

But... That video is kind of loaded with a lot of what I'd call spoiler heavy content for anyone not familiar with the series. Thankfully it's lacking in context to those spoilers but damn if it didn't show a 'lot' of content that we probably aren't gonna see first hand until like... November or December at the 'earliest'. Hell, it's probably gonna be latter than that considering this 2 episode a month airing cycle.

It doesn't work as well for this show, a thing they do better in other shows from this studio. The visual quality has been very unremarkable, especially after years of delays and new choppy bi-weekly release schedule. What is going on behind the scenes?

Alas since the CG is just a bank they likely won't improve it unless they got new transformations entirely, which is unlikely since they stayed as true to the old ones as they could.

Man that was great. I mean I still hate the crappy CGI but that totally blew my mind. I mean so far I have been pretty like meh on the new episodes so far they haven't been doing all that much for me but I now cannot wait till they get to the later stuff.

When it was announced that it was an internet only broadcast and on the bi-monthly schedule, not to mention the constant delays, that raised some pretty big red flags over whether this thing actually had much of a budget to begin with.

The animation errors and CG are my biggest problem with the show. But I understand Toei is prioritizing HaCha Precure because Pretty Cure is more important and bigger. Looking at least weeks episode it's clear that's where all their budget went to and Sailor Moon's episode was given the scraps.

There is only one thing I'm worried about.... maybe someone can clue me in, i don't know much about the manga... however it looks like they are going straight from the manga.... however the manga is only 50 acts which cover all seasons of the show..... but they announced that it would be 26 episodes in total JUST for the season of the dark moon kingdom... does that mean that they would extend the first part and add some filler episodes? because if they keep going by the manga like they are now then season 1 would be over by episode 12 or so..... can anyone teach me more about this? or we are not really sure yet?

They've never actually said which arcs Crystal will cover.

Based on the bonuses to be included with the JP blu-ray release, it looks like the show might include the Black Moon arc, though. Later volumes will come with charms that look like the Cutie Moon Rod, the henshin sticks from Sailor Moon R, and the time key. (Also note how the brooch on the Sailor Moon themed charms switches colors halfway through to look more like the brooch from the Black Moon arc.)

Some of the CGI is especially wonky in this, but I love the music video itself. *Heart eyes* Can't wait for the rest of this season to kick in!

Ah, well, a lot of crap goes down for quite a while. The Dark Kingdom covers about 2 1/2 volumes of the updated manga; Chibi-Usa comes in halfway through volume 3. They may filler it up a bit with extended scenes when it comes around to the backstory, but I expect a couple of TO BE CONTINUES when it comes to the Princess Reveal.

But if you count the acts of Dark Kingdom, that's really only 14 episodes but with some being longer act and the possibility of extending major scenes across a couple of episodes (especially the final battle and, as I said, the reveal) I can SEE it being 26 episodes but its quite possible that they may bleed into the 2nd story arc around episode 16 or 18.

Basically...I'm betting it'll cover manga volumes 1-3. .... don't get your hopes up though. I'm trying not to, myself.
