What are you talking about? There's litteraly no info about how it will be released just that it's a PS4/Xbox title.
Seeing as how Gamestop has a listing for it at $60. I'm betting full on retail. If Square just wanted to release this on PSN. They could have done this a long time ago for the PSP version. Especially since the localisation has been rumored to be "done" for a while. Instead they are going all out and making a next gen version.
And really, the mere fact that something is a digital title kills interests? ok...

Funny how I just applied the fan translation patch to my copy of Type-0 to play on my vita (With TN-V) I do find it bizarre that they'd port a handheld game to a home console - I would have much rathered a Vita port tbh. Meh I'll be buying this none the less. Will probably play the fan patched Psp game first though - since we haven't even gotten a release date yet.

That Vita announcement troll by Square-Enix for this was probably the biggest dick move that company has ever pulled. Seriously shitty thing to do after all the petitioning and begging they've gotten from Vita owners for this very release since the console launched, and FFX/X-2 HD proved the series has real selling power on the format to boot
That aside, I can't help but recall some clown on ANN here claiming that when Sony sold their stake in SE, they ensured SE would not release any games on PS4 in future with a smirk.
Well... where's that guy now?

Because I would rather play it on the move, and because I don't want to buy a 400 console to play an upscale of a PSP game. |
you could buy the psp version, rip the iso and apply the english patch to said iso. Then boot the iso from a modded psp and enjoy the full game on the go.

It's not the same and you know it, stop arguing a pointless argument. Common sense tells you that If a portable game gets a HD rerelease, it should be on a portable console. I'm happy that this is getting a re release, and will buy it none the less - but I am a bit annoyed that SE think they can get away with rereleasing a PSP game on PS4 instead of vita. This is the game Vita deserves and probably the most requested game on Vita since the Vita's launch, so you can't blame people for getting annoyed when it's announced for PS4 and not vita. Especially after Sony's fuckup with announcing the most requested game for Vita, on vita and then correcting it to PS4.

?
Sony weren't the ones that made that troll announcement, the announcement PR was written and posted by Square-Enix rep Sakura Minamida.
If you have to blame Sony for something, blame them for not pushing harder to secure a Vita version in the first place.

Please wait another 10 years for the game.
Square doesn't give a shit about any of your peoples qualms or concerns. They do what they want.

"Square dosen't give a shit about you people"
In a thread about a game that languished in localization only to get a HD port because of fans, because they know they have to get this game out to thier sizable audience outside of Japan". Sure money is the thing they care about first because they are a company, but if they "did what they want". They could have just left Type 0 in Japan.
This is also the company that made XIII-2. A game basically designed all around fan feedback from XIII. Then LR.
Also the same company that retold a big MMO with a producer who's been very open and communicating with the fans. He's been praised because of how receptive of the fans he's been.
They don't care about the fans and do what they want even though thier actions suggest otherwise.
Please make sense.

If they wanted to do this for the fans than they would have released this game on PSN years ago for the Vita, or put it on the PS3. The reason they are releasing this is simple, they don't have a Final Fantasy on the new consoles because of the numerous delays of FF XV so they are taking an old PSP game, upscaling it, and then releasing it so the consoles would have a "new game".
That's why they are ignoring fans that's why a blog that usually gets 15 comments got 1,300 pissed off comments and got a post that got 2.1 stars out of 5.

They are still a company and a company needs to of course make money. Just because of that fact does not mean they don't care about fans.
You want them to release a big FF on PSP for the PSN? You think that's going to make them money? I'm sure Square would like to actually make a profit on this game and releasing it straight to PSN is'nt going to work.
Look Square did a fantastic job supporting the PSP. They even released freaking Tactics Orge here with a fantastic localization. It's the fans who didn't back them up and thier last few PSP releases sold like crap here. By the time Type 0 came out the market for PSP releases here was not at all a thing and no way would a PSP digital release do what Square no doubt wants a Big FF title to do.
They can't release it on the PS3 here because SCEA blocks straight PSP ports to PS3. They have to be bundled with something. In fact direct ports of old games seem to have to be bundled. Type 0 on PS4 will probably be a bit different on PS4.
The Vita is a sales disaster.
Of course market research is whats pointing towards the PS4. Though I doubt it's the reason you claim. If that was so they could have easily done that Lighting Collection Thing, probably easier. By the time this is ready no doubt the PS4/Xbone will be more viable or the viable systems software sales wise and thats why it's coming to those systems.
But that dosen't change the fact to say that Square is totally ignorant of thier fans is completely wrong. No, they aren't going to throw away money to please them, that would be silly and unrealistic. Yet, they have attempted to correct the FF boat totally based on fan's feedback while attempting to of course make money.
