Mikasa as female character was to be expected but Steins' Gate capturing the male one was surprising. Surprised

Glad to see Majestic Prince win something, even if it wasn't exactly a wide field.

Gives me hope it'll help lead to another season.

If you're talking male characters in the top 10, there's two for Attack on Titan, Levi and Eren

There were both in this years anime (obviously) so it had nothing to do with them being veterans as much as it did with them having awesome skills. Same with most of the female wins. Over half of those have been around for a good while and I'm glad to see their still getting recognized overall all of the bland current actresses.

Suprised at how well Majestic Prince did over there in Japan. Fanbase overseas seems pretty tiny...

I still dont think AoT is anywhere near as good as people make it out to be. 4 episodes in and I already predicted the current manga outcomes so far. Nothing special IMO

Because we're talking fan polls here, the winner of the Best Soundtrack category (and for that matter, the runner-ups) aren't surprising in the least because of the popularity factor.

Nevertheless, the result is pretty appalling for anyone who cares about good music. None of these shows even come close to delivering the excellence of some of the better anime soundtracks to have come out over the course of the year.

I had not realized Majestic Prince did so well in Japan.

I did not watch the series so I have no opinion on it either way but I barely heard anything about this series.

I'm actually not that surprised Majestic Prince is doing well in japan. The anime is very good one things get rolling and the animation for the mecha fights outclasses just about anything I've seen in recent memory (Valvrave needs to take some notes).

Also as much as i love attack on titan, Majestic Prince had a MUCH better soundtrack to if you ask me. It might be because the soundtrack for Majestic Prince doesn't get released till December though, so no one has had a chance to properly listen to it.

Congrats, will watch the anime when I have a chance. Also I think this anime deserve to be broadcast on Toonami (and Funimation Channel).

Psycho-pass tied with Girls und Panzer in direction? Well that's complete and utter bullshit. Other than that everything on the list is pretty much as expected.

Yeah, Psycho-pass's direction was nowhere as good as GuP's.

These rankings remind me of how different the tastes of japanese otaku community are from ours (I'm generalizing myself and people around me) despite we all love anime.
