Given the recent DVD release Bandai Visual has done, I'm guessing this is sub-only, right? I mean Synch Point didn't mention any info about dub productions.

I think the only thing that matters for now is the episode count for the dvds.

I hope it's not Japanese only. Maybe the fact that it is being produced by Synch Point will mean that it will be bi-lingual. One can only hope.

Looks like it's been confirmed as 4 dvds, with no word on a dub. Anyone wanna pay $320 for this sucker? [Note that the comment on the price is just a joke.]

Ugh Could they not have chosen a different company then Synch-Point?
Really they made me highly diappointed with them and Tenshi Ni Narumon, Im still yet to see the next volume of that on the shelves. |

I sent Bandai Visual USA an email about having an English dub and this is how they responded:
I thought some of you might like to know this. |

Having Synch-Point doing GA Rune is no surprise since their parent company is Broccoli.
I read they're going to charge $40.00 for two episodes per disc. They must be crazy for charging far more for subtitle only than hybrid. Subtitle only should be far cheaper than hybrid. |

mm: Why do they even bother jumping in, if they're not willing to analyze market trends?

*sigh* I'll buy, but I'll still be disappointed that there won't be a dub. Well, the Galaxy Angel series wasn't exactly something Bandai didn't spend much on. Galaxy Angel A went straight to box set, didn't it?
$40? It better be packed full of extra stuff. Character albums or other Rune CDs? Although, that is very unlikely... |

It's been confirmed that it will be 4 discs, which means 3-4 episodes per disc. No word on the pricing. Yes, subtitle only should be cheaper (like Kashimashi) or at least the same price as any other release, but apparently Bandai Visual thinks people want to pay $40 for 1-2 episodes. A very select few series can probably get away with 1-2 episode releases (Hellsing Ultimate and they have the excuse of the series still coming out in Japan and will be for a few years) but most series can't. And charging more than the standard MSRP for a non-LE just doesn't work. Funi tried it with Fruits Basket, which had 6-7 episodes per disc along with a good deal of extras. People didn't care, they saw the price and said 'screw it'. Even hardcore fans who had an interest in getting some of these shows have balked at the absurd prices. BV may not be targeting the casual fan, but they are even losing many of the customers who were looking forward to these shows. I was planning on buying Gunbuster 2/Diebuster and Wings of Rean, but not at those prices and I'm hardly alone. |

I thought Stink Point got out of the anime production biz. I wonder how long before Bandai Visual will pull out of NA (aka Toei)
