I'm not sure if this has been discussed. When we think of anime, we think only of the stuff we really like, of course. The kind of stuff that just draws you in like InuYasha, Guyver, Fullmetal Alchemist, ErgoProxy, etc. We never think of the ones we find BORING. I have run into a few anime that I just thought were really dull. Either because the show doesn't go anywhere or things just get ridiculously stupid.
Trinity Blood The premise is cool, but it gets really F*&$in' boring, really fast. I really had no idea what was going on. It could be because I started off with volume 3, but I never had a problem buying later volumes of other shows. Maybe it's because I'm having a hard time believing that people would run the Vatican like that. Maybe it's a different Vatican, still a snore fest though.
Nazca Another Ludicrous concept having to do with Inca Warriors reincarnated as Japanese kendo practicioners. A lot of soap opera bull .
Karas I'm going to give this another chance because I really wanted to like this, but it was a real bore. Best part was the beginning. After that, things sort of got repetitive. I'll try watching it again.

Super Milk-Chan (Straight dub): Talk about LAME. What the hell was [Adult Swim] even thinking to get the straight dub when they could have gotten the Americanized version instead? No wonder it sucked--with all the obscure Japanese reference that would go over most of our heads, [AS] shot themselves in the foot, as well as ADV for producing that dub. If I ever watch it again, I'm just going to watch the Americanized version.

Edit: This first half is irrelevant now.
Kashimashi -Girl Meets Girl- I thought the premise was interesting. But the actual bulk of the series they spent, um, just whining back in forth about their "love" problems. Never actually went anywhere. Could have just cut off more than half of the episodes and it would have worked fine. It did have some rather nice comedy... but the drama was just...

hmm.. this is going to be fun
Wolf's Rain - slept through a lot of episode
Witch Hunter Robin - I used this as my sleeping pill
Piano - same as the aboves
Someday's Dreamers - ugh... I sat on my chair waiting for something other than talk to happen.
DNA^2 - sorry, but maybe if this was cut in half. Video Girl Ai is the right lengh for this kind of thing.
Sentimental Journey - it was half good and half boring...
Seraphim Call - same as above. Some of the episodes were sleepers but some were incredibly well done.
Samurai X: The Motion Picture - not only was this boring but it also sucked. It's like having a nightmare.
Starship Girl Yamamoto - I can't start to explain how I felt after hafe a dozen episode. I was so desperately bored I almost watched Dr. Phil instead.

Both seconded. ^
.Hack//sign - it's sad when the best thing about a series is the music... and nothing else. A cool premise turned into 25 episodes that felt like a waste of my life, with little to no actual resolution.
Noir - Only watched 3 episodes, but I honestly hate such horribly unrealistic forumla-based gunviolence. "Oh look! They only fire 123 shots at me, but didn't hit once, teehee"
Meloncholy (sp?) of Haruhi Suzuhara - I know alot of people loved it. It was a cool idea, but after the home-movies style first episode, in turned into a schooltime show, which there are already far too many of. The mixed up nature of the episode felt more like a confusing gimmick than an artistic method.
Inuyasha - Long, boring, predictable, also little to no resolution. "OMG HE HAS WHITE HAIR <3<3<3." I don't care.
I'm sure there's more, can't think of any right now tho.

Hahahahahhahaha oh god
That list is SOOOO full of unheard ofs. I mean, I've never heard of this FF7 Advent Children before? Gaogaigar? Ocean Waves?

Steve is right here. How are these titles "unheard" of?
Quote: | Many animes which you never heard of. But on top of them are Beach and Naruto. |
So in this context, Beach ( I am gonna assume Bleach) and Naruto are part of the "unheard" anime list. You must be hiding under a rock to not even heard a word of these titles. FF VII AC, is probably one of the most hyped up, and sadly lacking, animated flicks of present. How on Earth could you NOT hear of that title? Unless you don't follow anime and video games. But we are on ANN.com forums, so that is not likely the case.
Gundam Wing was a pretty popular series back when it was regularly on television. So if you just started watching anime, it could be understood that it is a little obscure, if any. You really are coming off as a "know it all/pretentious" kind of person.
I liked Wolf's Rain and didn't find it boring. But I do agree with Witch Hunter Robin, I felt so bored watching that making me wonder what on Earth motivated to purchase the series.

Darkside Blues. Great art direction, but where's the story and characterization? See also: Spriggan, Bounty Dog, Twilight of the Dark Master.
I'll second (third?) Witch Hunter Robin. I tried. I gave it a few episodes, but nothing. It could have been the awkward dub?
Landlock. Just because Shirow is involved doesn't always mean it's good.

GitS 2: Innocence I felt like I was listening to an audio tape of some philospohy class with all those quotes they threw in to sound cool. I was barely able to sit through this movie.
Love Hina I found almost every episode to be just a rehash of the one before it. I mean nothing new happened ever, it was "I wanna go to Tokyo U!" for 25 episodes.
Record of Lodoss War I couldn't stand this. Pacing too slow to uphold the craptastic plot.
Big O I'm not quite shure why, but I never could like this show. There is not one thing I liked, and I only watched it cause it came on Toonami/Adult Swim (back in the day) before and after shows I liked.

I'm probably going to get a few angry letters as a result, but I'd say One Piece. Now, to clarfiy I've only seen the sub and I've never seen the dub of the series so you can abandon that response now for any who were thinking to use it.
Basically, I found it to be a bore, the fights dragged on forever and there was way too many flashbacks and pointless mid-fight dialog. It seemed to take way too long to get anywhere and the action was poor at best. Just never seemed to go anywhere and would take a number of episodes full of repetitive scenes to actually get anywhere and the battles themselves were predictable and the characters uninteresting.

I'd have to say Cinderella Boy. It was a real bore, no action, plain dumb.
Yugioh, I seriously never got that show. I'd have to agree Love Hina had no plot same thing on almost all the episodes. Dual Masters a cheap copy of Yugioh.
One Piece I saw it dubbed in Spanish( my second language) seemed very dumb ( sorry for the major fans but that my opinion)

I have to agree with you. I tried watching it, but it seemed senseless to me.
Boring series I've seen and didn't like:
-Gantz: What's up with this? Violence, nudity and bad language? I didn't like it at all (and I DID try watching a bit of it, but listening the swearwords in it made me sick)
-Steel Angel Kurumi: I fell asleep watching it. No kidding! The "Master" issue bored me to death, especially since the main character, Kurumi, seemed to be a real airhead... She may be a robot, but she's an airhead.
-Dragon Ball Z: Are the fights over yet? This series, Sailor Moon and Saint Seiya bored me out with their extra-long fights and not-very-convincing characters. My fave series may be extra-long too, but at least it's not the same issue all the time.

Manga Entertainment's release of Odin - Starlight Mutiny gets my vote as the most boring anime I've ever seen. It's dreadfully dull, nothing happens in it, there is no resolution to the paper thin plot, the characters are irritating, & the dub is lacklustre (sounds like the VA's said their lines over the phone). Watching paint dry is more interesting, & a better use of your time IMO. Manga Entertainment's release sucks beyond belief, not helped by having 45 minutes edited out of it. This is the only anime I've taken back to the shop to get a refund.

Shirow only provided the chara designs, he had no real part in the production of that mediocre show.

Serial Experiments Lain is an anime I purchased a long time ago that many people on this forum recommended... I can't get past episode 1 without yawning, and I'm passed out by episode 2. Someday I'll get to it... maybe.
Genocyber... was just utter crap that I turned off after the first couple of minutes. Boring? Yes.

Put that on your box ADV! This is one of the funniest quotes I've ever heard. It just sounds funny to me. How old are you Testamentsaki?

I had the same feeling as you originally. I had the boxset sat on my shelf for years, but I couldn't get past the first two episodes. I perservered though, & on my 3rd attempt I watched the series in it's entirety & I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd give it another chance.

I second Someday's Dreamers. That one was just...so...slow.
Witch Hunter Robin is really boring for the first 8 or so episodes, but it picks up and is pretty satisfying through the last half. I'd suggest skipping all of the early filler after the 1st episode until about #9 or #10. Once the plot picks up it's much more interesting.
Inuyasha/Ranma/Dragonball movies, because we need more of the same rehash, just with slightly better graphics and zero progression and plenty of cameos to please the fanboys.
