I'm so used to Eric Stuart's Brock. Hard to imagine the character voiced by Sugita.

I'm so used to Ueda, and hearing Sugita, the king of Gintoki comedy playing Takeshi will be, uh, open to so many jokes...

Oh gosh, I just imagined Brock going after the pretty ladies... In my head it sounds so lewd with Sugita's voice, LoL.

I'm expecting Takeshi to be cool and down to earth, completely unlike the Brock we all know and love. Not that thats a bad thing. This reboot needs to break as far away from the normal pokemon anime as possible. I still say that if they had any common sense, this version will NOT have the pokemon talk their names, and instead they would only make animal noises.

Ha! And then the next phrase that came to mind was, "Nigerun da yooooooo~~~~!" *just finally finished watching JoJo recently*

Did you read the context? Kobayashi plays Shigeru (AKA Green) in the normal anime.

Man I wish this wasn't just a special (as excited as I am that it's being made) I'd love to see a full pokemon series with a different protagonist instead of Ash.

But Brock has been voiced by Bill Rogers since The Pokémon Company International took over the dub in 2006.

This says something about our ages.

I feel the same way. I wasn't watching the English by the time of the swap.

While we are in fantasy land, I think the Digimon route of 50-episode series for each generation would be a terrific idea.
26-episode series would lend themselves to budgets like this special's, but the games are so long and expansive you couldn't cover everything. I'm sort of afraid this one we're getting will jump around far too much.
